Congratulations Alabama and Tennessee. You tied for first place in america for the number of opioid prescriptions. 142 per each 100 residents. Do the doctors get a writers cramp?

I guess a lot of people finally saw a dentist.
WTH can a dentist prescribe that will get a person "hooked", and why in the heck would they be writing scripts for the pain killers for any length of time?
Where I saw it was in yahoo finance, it was a business insider article.

I either am doing it wrong or the computer won't. I see the link addresses other people post, I ain't got that figured out.
The original info was from the CDC in 2012, I believe.
Yeah, I saw it was an old article.
Pain pill addiction is rampant in Alabama. And yes, dentist can prescribe lorocet for tooth pain. For many dope heads that is the beginning, or if one has been "clean" for awhile and takes one for a toothache, will fall off the wagon so to speak.
Mad, I've had doctors and dentists try to push the pain pills on me. The pain was such that I could handle it without a pill. I smoked for 40 years, after weaning myself off cigaretts, I ain't taking anything that I might get addicted to. I think medical professionals give these pills out too frequently.
