Over on al.com, they are inviting participants to complete a rather lengthy survey. It includes a Question No. 22, which provides space for a providing a critique. I have responded, as shown below. I encourage others who are frustrated with that incompetently-administered forum to do likewise. Here is by broadside:

<<<The al.com forums are monitored by an incompetent drone who chronically misapplies forum rules, deletes posts for NO GOOD REASON and capriciously places participants on suspension. Thse childish and stupid practices are costing the forums a lot of participation, as evidenced by dwindling numbers of users of several of the forums, including the Shoals forum, where the forum monitor (also known by many participants as the "Deletin' Cretin,") is especially active and obnoxious! The so-called "Hardball Politics" forum is similarly a JOKE, since almost anything the least contentious gets deleted whenever some sniveling, polemically-compromised wretch complains that a post is "inappropriate." What is usually the case is NOT anything "inappropriate" but rather an argument that said sniveling wretch can not successfully refute. Thus, knowing that the Deletin' Cretin will become his saviour, said sniveling wretch asserts that the troubling post is "inappropriate" with the (usually correct) assumption that the Deletin' Cretin will more-or-less automatically delete it. Cowardice and incompetence thus are permitted to trump energetic debate!
Seems I have now been banned altogether, since the forum registration will not allow me in. I do not give a rat's *** about that, since the al.com forums are so second-rate as not to engender any regret as a result of being "banned." Your forums simply SUCK-- largely because of your incompetent and inane monitor.>>>

Nobody is forced to go there. Why not just stay out of that forum if you really dislike it?

I went there once or twice, didn't like it, and haven't been back.

The less you go there = fewer hits = fewer dollars to keep the site running = they'll either improve or go under.
It's that simple.

You miss the point. It is a forum dedicated to local discussion and it COULD be a vibrant site, but the maladministration of the thing has just about killed it. I was urging others to make their views known by responding to a solicitation by al.com that would enable them to do so. If enough people responded to that, perhaps some responsible person at al.com coul bring about much-needed change!

I get your point and totally agree with you that it could be a great thing. I guess i was just seeing a different approach...more of a "starve 'em out" approach. Whatever works, I'll be all for it. Cool
Btw, while you're at it, tell them to change their thread format. It's hard to follow.
