Try the Beach Club, out on the Fort Morgan Peninsula--Highway 180 will take you there. I recommend them especially for lunch, which is not nearly as pricey as their dinner. Be sure and order some sweet potato chips, which are excellent, and not like the limp, greasy mess I got at our local "upscale" Bronzeback Cafe when I ordered some there.

Thanks dbradley & jcrowder. We will put Jake's on out list. We LOVE The Beach Club! That's usually where we stay when we go. I love the whole set up there!
We were in Gulf Shores last week and ate at LuLu's. Most overrated, overpriced place I've ever been in. It is your true "tourist trap". They make a big play out of the owner being Jim Buffet's sister and offer nothing out of the ordinary. It's just a high priced hamburger joint. My wife ordered the boiled shrimp and it was the most bland tasting shrimp ever served, she wound up leaving 2/3's of them on her plate. For the boiled shrimp and a fried oyster plate with softdrink and tea, I paid nearly $45.00 which included a 15% tip. If you want good, go to the SeaNSuds on the beach, better food, better prices & better service.
My favorites are:
Desota's
Origional Oyster House
Wolf Bay Lodge.

I go to that area often, and I try to make all 3 places each time. All are excellent and trying to pick the best is real difficult, but may depend on your particular taste.
Wolf Bay Lodge has a great salad bar for lunch with several shrimp salads for less than $4.00, and excellent stuffed Flounder.
Desota's has a great menu for seniors (if you are an old person like me), and my favorite fried shrimp.
Origional Oyster House has the best oysters.

desotos was started by the family that operated "of oceans and prairies" in sheffield, years ago. if anyone remembers the mini bread loafs at oceans, they will recognize them.
