It is great that this terrorist is finally dead whatever the circumstances.

And THIS should be the cause for celebration, not the fact that this happened under President Obama's administration.

After this past week and working with REAL tragedy, somehow the petty differences of politics just do not mean as much to me.

This was a victory for ALL Americans.  PERIOD.

He deserves credit renecillo along with a lot of those in his administration and the soldiers who took part in the actual mission.

I didn't mean to insinuate that the President did not deserve credit, just the hyper particism that is often attached to ANYTHING either good or bad that happens to the country should NOT override this joyous event.

I can't help but think of the storm tragedy that took place here in our state and the VERY VISIT OF THE PRESIDENT HIMSELF, was derided by at least ONE who has posted an idiotic thread on another forum taking this positive step and deriding it in a negative way on this and another forum (I will not even type his low-life screenname) and I hope those of us who support the President and his party will rise above what probably would have been the attitude of those like the (poster with no name) and his counterparts:  TO GLOAT!

As I stated, it is a victory for ALL AMERICANS

i don't like Obama. i don't think anyone is under the impression that i do.

but let's be fair.

if W had been in office he'd get the blame for everything, and the credit.

Bill got the credit and the blame for everthing.

now it's Obie's turn. if this operation had gone sideways and OBL had escaped, Obama would be getting the blame. since it went well, no american casualities, dead terrorist putz chucked in the ocean, then in all fairness he deserves the credit.

even if all he did was say " mission approved" then he carries the blame for anything that goes wrong, and gets the credit for anything that works.

i don't like him, but fair is fair.

but you know? i bet that seal team will never have to pay for another beer for the rest of their lives.

Man I'm proud to be an American!

Man I'm proud of our Military!

Man I'm proud of our CIA and other intelligence agencies that located Osama!

Man I'm proud of the President for having the courage to go forward with the info we had!

Probably in the same protection program as JFK, Elvis...and those little green people from Roswell.

Actually, that is NOT where the intelligence came from. Here's an article that tells about it:

Hmm...good question. How long HAS the CIA existed? (Hint, I don't think George Bush started it.)

Since you refuse to give Bush any credit let me rephrase that. Who approved the waterboarding that got the couriers name form the AQ guys in Guantanamo?

It WASN'T warterboarding that got him to name the guy. Didn't you read the article?

"Mohammed did not discuss al-Kuwaiti while being subjected to the simulated drowning technique known as waterboarding, former officials said. He acknowledged knowing him many months later under standard interrogation, they said"

Donald Rumsfield said that waterboarding had nothing to do with it.  http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-50...20059438-503544.html   Bush said he wasn't concerned with Bin Laden and even terminated the CIA ops program focused on locating him in 2005.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PGmnz5Ow-o  So, I don't know how you can possibly be giving Bush any credit in finding Bin Laden?

I would think you would be more concerned with HOW Bin Laden got set up in a mansion in Pakistan without GW Bush knowing about it.  Perhaps, because he wasn't looking for him?

Well, according to Donald Rumsfield....no one.  No one was ever waterboarded in Guatanamo.
