That gibberish is just part of the awful mess she blithered.  Can you envision it--the boldly riding silversmith firing his musket as he rides through the towns, his message being not so much "The British are coming" as "Not to worry, we will be secure; we will be free!?"

Of course, in the earlier part of this laughable clumsy account, Palin got gun control into the mix. She has Paul Revere delivering a warning to the British that there would be no confiscation of colonialist guns," to wit,  "He who warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms...." Paul Revere--a spiritual forefather of the NRA!

For Sarah P., Paul Revere was doing far more than spreading the warning that the British were coming.  She has Revere delivering an ideological screed to the invading redcoats, a proclamation to the oncoming (but not yet there) minions of King George that the colonists would keep their guns and would be secure and free, a sort of mini-Declaration of Independence!

And did you SEE her doing that in front of that cluster of impressionable school children, boys and girls who looked to be about 11 or 12 years old, and doing it in her wild-eyed, deer-in-the-headlights mode, ever-so-blithely concocting her own revisionist version of that midnight ride?  Come Fall, the history teachers of New England will have  a lot of misinformation to correct in those young minds!

Tommy, the "dumb" Smothers Brother, used to spiel off distorted and zany accounts of history as part of the great Smothers Brothers comedy/singing act of the 60s and 70s.  Sarah's revisionist imbroglio is the equal of anything Tommy ever came up with, but with Tommy it was all an act. He was acting wild and crazy on purpose; Sarah is too dense to know just how dumb her version of that midnight ride actually is!

THIS is presidential material???!!!

I didn't say she was right.

I just think that you have a case of the pot calling the kettle black. (Did I just say that?)

You call Palin stupid and forget all about the idiot in the White House.(Did I just say that?)

As Ray Stevens sang,"yea I did." Again 57 states? Iran a harmless little state somewhere

over there? Israel back to it's pre-1967 borders? The economy improving? Change? Are

you socialists insane? If you want incompetence, you have Obama.

Dawes initially appeared to have escaped his pursuers, but was thrown from his horse and captured. Paul Revere was taken prisoner and during his interrogation deliberately provided greatly inflated numbers of militiamen awaiting the British at Concord.

During the ride back to Lexington, Revere and his captors heard shots fire and church bells ring throughout the area — events that gave some credence to Revere’s report of colonial preparations. Fearing for their safety, the British released Revere, but took the precaution of giving him a tired horse to slow his return to Lexington."

As to bells and shots.

Congratulations young friend. You may have stumbled on an exception to the rule. Again this is a statement of the obvious, however, in this particular case it appears it may have some waggish merit. The humor contained there-in is so miniscule it could easily be overlooked by all but the most discerning patron of jocosity, but it does offer a glimmer of hope. I would encourage you to review the lessons in the Funny Lessons for Jimi thread for further study. Keep going little buckaroo. You'll get a smile out of someone someday.

Palin is a true Patriot,

but I personally wouldn't want Palin as President. I do like her and her hearts in the right

place. I just think she isn't electable. I personally wish the Thrill up their leg press would

have treated the idiot in the White House the same way. Unfortunantly we would have had

McCain. Diffidently not a Win-Win. But better than the CHOSEN ONE.

Do you really , down deep in your heart, believe that 4 more years of the distructive policies of Reagan and Bush would have done the country better ?

You gotta be joking.

I have my problems with Obama, mainly that he is too conservative, but Bush pushed this country into the ditch and almost over the cliff.

If you really think about where we almost were, and although things aren't too keen right now, where we would have been if we had continued Bush's reign of ruin with McCain, I don't think you would really have liked the world you would have found yourself in.

Worse yet, Obama is still having to fight to preserve what's left of our union.

So, in your elementary school textbook, Paul Revere was warning the British? You and Caribou Barbie appear to be equally ignorant of American history. Perhaps he was psychic and saw the 2nd amendment coming in the future.

Palin doubles down on her mistake on the Sunday morning news.

Chris Wallace:

I gotta ask you about that real quickly, though. You realize that you messed up about Paul Revere, don’t you?

PALIN:

You know what? I didn’t mess up about Paul Revere. Here’s what Paul Revere did. He warned the Americans that “the British were coming, the British were coming.” And they were going to try to take our arms so got to make sure that, uh, we were protecting ourselves and, uhm, shoring up all of our ammunitions and our firearms so that they couldn’t take them.

But remember that the British had already been there — many soldiers — for seven years in that area. And part of Paul Revere’s ride… And it wasn’t just one ride. He was a courier. He was a messenger. Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there that, “Hey. You’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms. You are not gonna beat our own well-armed, uh, persons, uh, individual private militia that we have. He did warn the British.

And in a shout-out, gotcha type of question that was asked of me, I answered candidly. And I know my American history.

If Palin knows her American history, this latest bit of jujitsu shows no evidence of it. The purpose of Revere’s ride was to inform John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and other colonial American patriots that the British Army was marching from Boston to Lexington. As such, secrecy and stealth were essential. So contrary to Palin’s claim that Revere warned the British they would not succeed, Revere attempted to avoid all contact with British troops or British loyalists already living in the colonies. The entire point of Revere’s mission was to inform the patriots of the British movements without the British knowing they were being informed.

Furthermore — again due to the need for secrecy and stealth — Revere used no bells or warning shots, and delivered his message in face-to-face contacts throughout the night. (Palin seems to simply forget her creative inclusion of the bells and warning shots in her initial recounting.)

I think she knows there are 50 states and not 57 like Obama thought. But that THRILL

UP YOUR LEG MEDIA, Chris Wallace included, seem to over look the many mistakes

Obama has made. Let's start with 20 years as a member of the Infamous Rev. Wright's

Anti- American, Anti- White/ Jew/ anything but black racist Church. Praise the Lord.

How about the Black Panther security guards intimidating voters with a billy club. That

Obama's Attorney General Holder didn't think warranted prosecution. Hummm I wonder.

How about that little mistake of not recognizing Iran as a Threat. The list goes on.

Lets pick on a Woman you big tough man. She may not ever be president but she will

always be a true patriot. Unlike you and your Socialist Media.

Palin did usher a huge windfall profits tax on oil taken from Alaskan deposits.  Isnt that a socialist program???

The Alaska tax is imposed on the net profit earned on each barrel of oil pumped from state-owned land, after deducting costs for production and transportation, which are currently estimated at just under $25 a barrel.

The tax is set at its highest rate in Prudhoe Bay, where the state takes 25 percent of the net profit of a barrel when its price is at or below $52.

The percentage then escalates as oil prices rise over that benchmark. Alaska gets about $49 of a $120 barrel, not counting other fees.

BP Alaska, which runs Prudhoe Bay, said earlier this year that it had delayed the development in the western region of the North Slope as a result of the tax. ConocoPhillips cited the same reason for scrapping a $300 million refinery project.

"What the tax has done is take away all the upside," said Doug Suttles, president of BP Alaska. The U.K.-based oil company paid more than $500 million in taxes to Alaska last quarter — far more than it earned in profits from Alaskan oil, according to Suttles.

Investment dollars are flowing instead to places that have a better return, like the massive deep-water projects offs**** in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, where ConocoPhillips said the government take equals less than 50 percent of the barrel.

In July, BP announced it would begin developing the Liberty oil field, a $1.5 billion project expected to yield 100 million barrels of oil, located on federal lands in Alaska. If the project had been located in state lands on the North Slope, "I don't think we'd have been able to make that investment," Suttles said.

If, you read my earlier post, you'd realize that the bells and shots were sounded along his ride to further send the message.  Not, from the South Church bell tower.

As to seizing American arms,  "Paul Revere was a here of the Revolutionary War immortalized in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere," published in the 1860s. Revere's infamous ride warned his fellow colonists of an impending British attack on weapons stores in Concord, Massachusetts. "

"Revere's most notable service in this capacity came on April 18-19, 1775, when he rode on horseback from Boston to Lexington to warn patriot leaders John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British were marching to capture them and seize colonial arms and munitions. After delivering his message in Lexington, he continued on to Concord with his fellow messengers, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott. A British Patrol stopped the trio and captured Revere. He was released later, without his horse, and he returned to Lexington on foot."

No, simply a tax upon assets within the state.  Extract of minerals and oil are the two main profit centers for Alaska.

Alabama has similar income including a $2.5 billion fund.

Obama, a left winger and a politician, is simply trying to go as far left as he can and still be re-elected.

As Obama is at least an EU socialist, to the left of that is an international socialist, which term Karl Marx stated was a polite term for communist.

Communism, or international socialism, murdered 180 to  200 million in the 20th century and continues to do so.

The KGB estimated their surveillance battalions would have to eliminate 25 to 30 million Americans.  Ditzy, how many do you fantacize about killing!
