"Jenkins said he was trying to defend himself when the coach threatened him".

"Potts said the school video disputes Jenkins' explanation. The investigator said the video does not show Krieger making an offensive move."

Sounds like Mr.Jenkins didn't realize that there were cameras recording. I bet his kids are real proud of dear ole Dad. Evidently some kids learn bullying at home. From what I've heard, Jenkins is approx. 350 lbs., & a bully while Krieger is a short small man, very nice & a man that would not attack anyone. Of course, you can't believe everything that you hear.

Nowhere does it say it was premeditated ...nowhere does it say there was a ballgame in progress. People jump to conclusions...His kids probably are proud of him. ....They are foster kids. I don't know thia guy but I know people who know him. They didn't exactly defend him but said that he was a foster parent to several kids. He has none of his own. So apparently he has never been in any type of trouble before. ...else he couldn't foster. Also, who knows how any of us would react if we had foster kids that we cared for and you know were treated improperly by their own parents and you walk up on a teacher yelling at one of them after all the work you had gone through to bring them out of their shell. There are always two sides...although I would never condone violence.

Well, unless the coach was yelling at the kid at the time of this incident then yes it was premeditated!

I could understand having a talk with said coach about his coaching tactics, but in no way is violence the answer.

Rogers school and Greenhill is know for thinking violence is the way to settle things. don't forget this is the 21st century!

Did you read the article?  It didn't say he walked up on the coach while he was yelling at his foster child. It said the attack occurred in the hallway in front of the Rogers High School main office as he was checking his daughter into school. He claims he was going to talk with the coach & when he approached him, the coach made a threatening move toward him. Yes, there is always two sides & evidently the recorded tape proves that the coach didn't make an offensive move toward Jenkins. I thnk they should make that tape public.

I can remember being in PE & kids got yelled at all the time for not running fast enough, not trying hard enough, etc. None of us thought anything about it. It was just something the PE teacher or coach did.

You  know people that know him but none of them defended him? It's possible that since Alabama is so strapped for foster parents, the agency doesn't care if he's a bully or not. Hopefully, those foster kids will be removed asap. You say you don't condone violence, but you're defending Jenkins?

I will admit that I missed the part about how he was going to "talk" with the coach. I thought he just happened upon the coach yelling at the child. And they were right in banning him from the school grounds. It was an un-called for incident. Like I said ..I don't know him or his family. My thought was just the fact that he can't be all bad if he was a foster parent. And the comment I made about his kids being proud of him...well, if someone was willing to step up and be parents for me if I was orphaned...well, yes, I would say that is a person I would be proud of. Other than that I don't know anything about his parenting skills, or lack thereof.

I know Greenhill has a bad rep when it comes to violence..but there are some very fine people who live there too. And when there is a tragedy in the community they come together like nobody's business.

There may be a video, but is there audio ? If one tells you they will kill you, should we assume this could be taken as threatening move, and should the receiver of this information wait till you accomplish the threat before they take defensive action, At what point after one has been killed should they take defensive action?

We have but a small snippet of the full story here, so I'm just going to wait and see what happens in court in this case...Everybody else might as well.

Semi, if the incident makes it to court the tape may be viewed by those in the courtroom, and it's open to the general public and free.
