Hilarious - why cant we all use our first amendment rights to access any closed public place?

Double standard at its best.......

Very ironic legal tax paying Americans a no-go at any U.S. Park but a march/rally for illegals ok.  This would make a good Far Side cartoon.

This took place today as scheduled.  Obama should be ashamed of himself.  Lock out Veterans, let in  Immigration reform rally.  Close down Amber Alert site, leave up Michelles pet project page.  Pitiful.....

barack is a sorry human being. he inflicts pain and misery on our veterans by not letting them visit memorials and then lets a bunch of non taxpaying leaches parade on "closed" federal property. pathetic.

so, now the conservatives are against the first amendment? i never dreamed i'd see the day.... you "constitution hawks" sure did have a change of heart!

They were on "closed" federal property. What makes you think anyone here is against the first amendment? Your leader has strictly prohibited US citizens from visiting open air federal grounds during the gov't shutdown, yet he allows non citizens to visit them. No matter how hard you try you cannot defend this.

easy.. one, the vets, were a tour group.. to visit a national monument...

the second, a "petitioning the government for redress through a demonstration".

how is that not a first amendment issue?

i understand your point of view... however crazy it may seem... they are two different things.you usually don't fall for the "propaganda spin" . why buy into it, now?

besides, i'm pretty sure obama isn't sitting in the white house deciding who can/can't visit a monument. surely you're not that silly.

Are you saying that the Freedom of Speech would allow someone to force yellowstone and mt Rushmore to open back up?  

They could have relocated their rally to somewhere that was not closed.  Hell, i know folks that had to reschedule their wedding in the mountains because the park is closed,  maybe they should have said that their freedom of speech was restricted because they couldnt say their vows where they had planned to.... 

How is it that the amber alert site was down but letsmove.gov was still up over the weekend.  Someone close to Obama and the democrats is making these decisions based on politics......

well, the DOJ probably shut down all its websites... i imagine letsmove.gov doesn't fall under the DOJ. that's pretty simple to understand. the republicans need to "own" this shutdown... and get a new understanding of the word "compromise".

As outdoor monuments and the national mall, which were never closed in other shut downs, its obvious that orders were given to maximize the pain.  Whether Obama gave a direct order, or it was a "will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest" like Henry II, it makes no difference.  Obama is the root.
