Did this just happen, noticed it today. I saw a for sale sign or the door. Did UMI, Hibachi, Evergreen, or Genghis grill put them out?

Almost makes you think there's too much competition in the oriental restaurant business.
Too bad almost all are generic--like Mexican restaurants.
I'd like to have a Chinese or Vietnamese restaurant that's indeed special--above the rest.
I find Yumm, the Asian fusion cafe, in the old Rogers building to have the most original and different offerings for oriental food.
Ran out of cats.
if you had ever been to vietnam you would not care as much for dog meat.

The last couple of times I was there, the food put them out
Koreans are more into dog, than ethnic Vietnamese. The upland montagnards were more the dog eaters -- too stringy and greasy for my taste.

Boy, me too. I think it was called the China House that was on Florence blvd in that little strip mall that was razed to widen the road had real Chinese owners. You could give them a couple of days notice of how many people were coming and they would prepare these feasts of dishes that weren't on the menu. They served them family style-- if you had 10 people they would make 10 different dishes that you passed around. So good. That was before all the Chinese restaurants went to buffet style.
When passing through Nashville we always stop at Miss Saigon Vietnamese restaurant. No buffet, delicious. Sometimes we're not sure what we're eating, can't always understand the wait staff. Wish they had one here. It's probably more healthy than Chinese.
Peking closed about 3 or 4 weeks ago. In my opinion, we have not had a really good Chinese restaurant since China Village (next to Chuck E Cheese in Sheffield) closed. I have not tried Evergreen. I wish we could get a PF Chang's - I would be in heaven! haha
Hi David, isn't there a PF Chang's in Huntsville? I know that's a ways to go but good for those special occasions.
PF Changs at Bridge Street Town Centre, However, the most authentic Chinese cuisine is at Ding How II (on weekends, they serve dim sum on steam tables). Its where the ethnic Chinese go to dine.

Where do the non-ethnic Chinese go?

Get a bit busy on Sunday after church, but the waiting line is usually short.
Peede, yes I usually eat there when I go to Huntsville. I am just not in Huntsville that often. Not familiar with the other place but will try to check it out sometimes.
