Petition and March to Montgomery for Legislative Raises!!!

There have been several discussions about the legislators' decision to give themselves a pay raise the past week. Here is your chance to voice your disgust and disdain in a meaningful way.

The website below is a link that gives information about a march to Montgomery to voice your displeasure. There is also a petition that you can sign as well. Matt Murphy, from the Source 101.1 FM, is the creator of this petition and march. Everyone on this forum should take a second to sign this petition if you feel these raises are ridiculous.

Could we not drive instead of marching? I mean after all at my age that would be a long march and may take me until march to get there.

Originally said March was to be on the 27th,I have noticed some of the signers saying 20th.This needs to be corrected before there is a mistake.

Wow, I shall do that as soon as I get home... BUT is that enough? I don't think it is... I think we should call our friends, and have them do it.. I think we should call our legislatures and LET THEM KNOW THEY WILL NEVER BE VOTED FOR AGAIN IF THEY PASS THIS!!!!! It is going to take a lot of people, a lot of letters, and a lot of THREATS of their votes to get them to be frugal with their raises...

Wasn't it Riley who wanted the tax voted in as soon as he got into office.... even went so far as to send ALL the state workers threatening letters to VOTE FOR THE TAX OR LOSE YOUR JOB...

And wasn't it Alabama that was so far in the hole...

How did we pull out of it?????

What miracles have been performed?????

Or have we been lied to for all these years about our finances?????

Just WHEN did the 4 BILLION dollars that Riley needed to run the State come in????

Methinks we have been fooled, once again!!!!

And now to think that our State legislatures would sit down there and DOUBLE THEIR SALARIES!!!! When the basic working person is lucky to get .03%.... and that is a stretch...

When did we lose control over Montgomery to start with???

When did all this go on ... BEHIND OUR BACKS ... for it to come up for vote so quick???

This is a total fiasco, and the ONLY answer is to threaten their office!!!!!

VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!!!!!!! MAKE THEM GET A REAL JOB!!!!!

Oh wait!!! Doesn't our legislatures get a certain percentage of their monies per year AFTER they leave office??? PLUS the medical insurance and monies added to their retirement funds yearly????????

Man, is Alabama EVER in trouble....

Anyone ever think of putting a Lottery here so we can SAVE us????
