What made Jimmy Page such a great guitarist is his knowledge of scales. In my humble opinion of course. My favorite guitarist cites Jimmy as a major inspiration.

I think one of the most underrated guitarists is Al DiMeola. Give him a listen.

i'll tell you someone else that is amazing, kenny wayne sheppard. he was at jazz fest in nola last year and i just happened to walk up on his set. i was completely blown away. kenny wayne will be doing a free gig in nola the middle of october. it's called the blues and bbq fest with lots of great bands, all free. (weekend music festival)

A lot of Kenny Wayne's songs were written by Mark Selby from Nashville. He and his wife Tia Sillers ("I Hope You Dance" and "There's Your Trouble") are two of the nicest people I have ever met, and Mark is an AMAZING guitarist!
