Todays "Pets of the Week" again featured Milly, a female rat terrier. This little black and white angel "does not have much time left."

I wish I could have found a pic to have downloaded, but she looks adorable on page 2A of today's TD. I live in an apartment and can't have a dog, but if I could...

Milly is at the Florence Shelter, 760-6676. The shelter is located just behind the Florence Cemetery. Surely there's someone reading this that would love to have a dog like Milly.

No, this is the Florence Animal Shelter. Traveling west on Tennessee Street, turn onto Hicks, then take the next left. You will see the shelter on the right (this is directly behind the Florence City Cemetery).

I'm guessing she hasn't been spayed or had all her shots, but that would be a small expense for such a faithful friend.

Oh please, Paycheck. Do get her. It would be a shame to let her go. Please keep in touch. If you can't get her let us know. I know I would be willing to pay the adoption fees if someone can take her. I just have too many fosters at the moment to take on another. And it's getting to be a nightmare trying to keep someone in my house to take care of them while I am TDY.

The shelter used to require a small "adoption fee" which could be used as credit against neutering charges. Ask the staff if this is still the case. Really, shots and neutering are fairly inexpensive. You'll spend more on toys and treats your first trip to the store.

Crusty, my first dog was what Daddy called a feist--it looked like Milly, but was brown and white.

I have checked the Shelter home page. Adopiton fee is 75.00 and includes neutering and first rabies shot.

Here is a pic of Mandy from the shelter--a Jack Russell/Boston mix. She is also listed as URGENT.

What was the outcome?

I already have 3 cats, so another animal is out of the question for me. If I had the room and money, I would take in all the cats and dogs (after having them spayed or neutered).

i called too FV. i left a message explaining our interest in Milly, and asked them to hold off on life-decisions for her today. i also left my number for a call-back. maybe we'll hear something good soon!

I understand Milly was adoped this morning. Mandy is still urgently in need of a home!

I'm not sure who adoped Milly. If it was Paycheck, please let us know and post some pics!

Here is "Little Girl," a chichihua/terrier mix that needs a home. The shleter is open Monday through Friday, 8-12 and 1:30-5.

I've got Weezie at the vet's getting her "hysterectomy" and all her shots right now. It'll be at minimum $186 today at 5 pm. That includes a pedicure. Pretty sporty for a dog I found 10 miles from any house, in the rain, on the side of the road,huh?

She was coming into the first heat since we've had her, so she whined for three days and carried a stuffed squirrel everywhere. On Monday, the $186 sounded like a lot, by Thursday it sounded like a heck of a bargain.
