I have told some of you about my best friend Jay. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer on the 20th of July. The doctors told his family he had between two weeks and three months. Well, Jay figured he had about four months. It seems he was right.

I went to see him last night, and although he still has no pain, he is so tired he can't stay awake for more than a few minutes at a time. Last night he asked me to hold his hand while he fell asleep, and of course I did. (I tried to keep my crying quiet so I wouldn't wake him up.)

I'll be going back up after work tonight, and I think it might be the last time he will be aware enough to even know I'm there.

Please, all of you who are Christian, pray for him. He knows where he is going when he leaves here, but he's a little scared about the process. Please pray that he has no fear, no loneliness, and that he continues to be pain-free.

Any of you who are not Christian, please send positive thoughts his way. I know you don't even believe that will make a difference, but it can't hurt, can it?

Thank you.

May the angels lead you into Paradise.

May the martyrs come to greet you on the way.

May they lead you home to the holy city,

to the new and eternal Jerusalem.

May the choirs of angels come to welcome you.

May they take you to the arms of Abraham,

where Lazarus is poor no longer,

and there may you find rest, rest eternal.
Hi O No,

I just want to let you know I have sent this prayer request to all the people in my Friends Ministry mail list.

God bless, Bill

Hi to all my Friends,

Today, my Forum Friend, Ono, asked prayer for her friend, Jay, who is nearing death from cancer. Let's all join with her in lifting Jay to our Lord, that Jay's remaining time will be peaceful and without pain -- and that he will put all his apprehension aside and rest in the love and assurance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Let us also keep Jay's family and friends in prayer; that our heavenly Father will comfort them and give them His peace and assurance as they wait for Jay's approaching Home Going to be with his Lord. We are assured that all of Jay's family and friends who are also believers will not be saying "Good bye" to Jay. Instead they will be saying, "Good night, I will see you on that glorious resurrection morning" -- for they, being believers, have His promise of a glorious Reunion with Jay one day.

Thank you for your prayers and God bless,

Bill Gray

So sorry to hear about Jay. May he feel God’s loving embrace during this difficult time, and may His peace flood his heart. But on the other hand, he’s going to place where he will have the best of everything. Thanks for sharing.

God bless, Bill
Hi O No,

Lifting our fellow believers in prayer is an honor. But, it is not me; it is God working through the hearts of many of us to light the way for your friend, Jay.
