Polaris Industries - Victory Motorcycles

Not a good time for that industry anyway. Those are high priced toys and, when the economy goes south, we all know the toys go first. Between that and the fear of public lands being closed by the current administration, the sales of ATVs has been in the crapper.

Moving to Mexico and Canada didnt hurt the American Automobile Industry. Their actual downfall was not listening to consumers. Its a shame that this has happened, though. Many companies will be rethinking their strategy. Its surprising to me that they have remained in the US as long as they have....

Polaris Closing Osceola Plant, Moving to Mexico
OSCEOLA, Wis. (WTAQ) - The maker of Polaris snowmobiles and Victory motorcycles is closing its parts plant in Osceola in northwest Wisconsin. Polaris Industries said Thursday its moving many of its operations to a new plant near Monterrey Mexico.

But it will continue making snowmobiles in Roseau Minnesota and motorcycles in Spirit Lake Iowa, and some of Osceolas work will be moved there. Polaris says the 515 employees in Osceola can apply for jobs at those 2 plants. Also, the firm says its negotiating to sell some of its equipment and processes to suppliers which could keep producing components in Osceola.


They will still continue to make their products here in the US but get their parts from Mexico like Ford, GM, Chrysler, Harley etc. I hate to see their jobs gone. Plus Victory was the only true American made motorcycle with parts made in the USA. I am sure this move will hurt their sales.

Does Polaris make Jet Ski for Kawasaki? It is a registered trademark of the Kawasaki Company. I'm thinking they have another name for their PWC.

I Googled it. They make Waverunners.

Google is wrong, Polaris hasn't made watercrafts since the 2004 model year. Waverunner is a Yamaha product.

I think I have this figured out...if we send enough good U. S. jobs to Mexico, the illegals will slip back over the border and take those. It still hurts our economy but we get our towns back.
