I understand that President Obama wanted to appear as a “tough” guy or show his anger about the oil spill in the gulf, but does he have to resort to “vulgarity”. As a school teacher, that defiantly was an inappropriate statement about him wanting to know who’s a$# to kick. What message does this send to the youth of America? When you are angry or displeased with the situation, then vulgarity makes it better. I can see it now, students saying that in school, and then being reprimanded by the teacher. I know what their reply will be “But President Obama said it, why can’t I”. Our president needs to show more class especially when we are at a crises.

His attitude and use of words such as "kicking ***) is not that of a president. It just shows how he does not deserve being in the position that he has. A president is supposed to represent all of us in the USA and use formal and correct language. His true colors are finally coming forth and shows that he is of no use to us as a president.
I do not Obama. I don't liek his ideals, i don't like his politics, i don't like his plans for the future of this country.

that said, this is such a non issue to me i can't really believe peopel are acctually complaining about it.

to me, it's like that few second pause that W took when he was reading to those kids and they told him about the airplanes.
i mean, really. that was HUGE news. i was watching it live on TV and it took me time to assimilate what i was seeing. then all the armchair quarterbacks start criticizing bush because he was stunned for a moment.

to them i say, i was stunned as well. we all were. so were you, so blow it out your donkey and quite holding other people to standards that YOU can't achieve.

as for what obama said?
pull on your big girl panties and get over it.
maybe this proves i have no class either.
if having class is holding people to standards i don't hold myself to, and then whining when they don't meet them, then i don't want it. i'll just stay down here, common as muck and happy about it.
Yes, he used the word "ass," which is the first part of the word George W. Bush used over an open microphone to refer to a journalist he did not particularly appreciate. The last four letters of the word chosen begin with "h." You
can probably fill in the rest.

And besides, ass-kicking goes with the territory. Ten Presidents who kicked ass:

No, but I'd appreciate it if he would threaten then actually kick someone's ass over this disaster.

My only complaint is that he didn't threaten to kick ass earlier. This is truly a national disaster unlike anything we have seen before. And it will get much worse before it gets better. SOMEONE needs their ass kicked.
Roll Eyes
whats the big deal. I say ass all the time.
In my head i call lots of people asses. sometimes to their faces.
sofa king, you're an ass. He would say, whatever, veep, you're an ass too. Now if i said sofa, you are a sh**$#) head, he might get angry.
But seriously people, get over it.Lighten up. The guy may be a poor leader, but grown ups do swear.

"Ass" is a vulgar word?

My goodness y'all are a bunch of prudes.

They're not talking homosexual here sofa queen.
Anyone reading my post knows I'm no fan of Mr. Obama and believe we have the most liberal, destructive, and inexperienced President that our Country has ever seen. I also realize, being in Alabama, that most would share my opinion, politically, about him.

Even though with all that said, with my personal dislike of what he's attempting to do to our country as well as his apologies for our country he was elected and is our President but that's no excuse for not being Presidential. Even with all his inexperience at the very least you would think he could act Presidential.

For all the things that people detest President Bush about his Actions while in office were Presidential and respectful and even more so while out of office. He has remained silent about Obama unlike Mr. Obama who ceaselessly looks for outlets and ways to "blame Bush".

I not only fear this President and the damage he will do to our Country but I'm embarrassed and ashamed, as an American to have someone so prominent representing our country that is so unprofessional, and un-Presidental.

LOL.
fair call.
i was doing about 5 different things at once, and as you see, i wasn't doing any of them particularly well Smiler
I'm no fan of Obama and use of the word "ass" in itself is not what bothers me. What bothers me is that he's a bully and now talks about "whose ass to kick". I wish they would quit for now with the words back and forth and the whole blame game thing. They just need to work together and plug the darn hole. It ain't rocket science, if they get the whole bureaucracy thing out of the way and just plug it up and clean it up then we could play the blame game later. Really, they build man made islands in the ocean, surely in a short amount of time they could just entomb the whole thing with concrete if they waned to get out there with enough equipment and material. Why not just let the corps of engineers loose on it? I bet there's a few people there thinking "we could stop that leak up in less than a week"
This whole deal reminds me of watching the grill being lit at a block party where instead of just dumping some charcoal in the grill and lighting it off about a dozen guys are standing around arguing over how the coals should be stacked, whether or not to use lighter fluid, etc.. while everyone else is standing around for hours starving and flies are attacking the food to be grilled.

Some people try to find anything they can to pick at Obama. Hell, I didn't even think anything about it. In fact, I thought it was a more appropriate thing to say than some of his dialed back dialog on the matter.
Whether you think the word is inappropriate or vulgar -- I doubt you would be happy if your 8 year old yelled it out in Wal-mart. With that said, it sets a bad example for our kids. There is a time and place for everything and a show of professionalism and his mouth has shown several times that he has no filter with his language. He and the VP both have been caught saying cuss words. It takes away from what we try to teach at home -- they see the President doing it just like the Hollywood/Music Types and they think it's ok. It is easy to say "don't be like Little John" or some other pop/rap star, but if I tell my kid to not be like Obama the President -- someone will say I'm racist.
Not defending Obama, but I don't recall people complaining when Bush thought his mic was off and then went on to refer to a reporter as an "*******" to Cheney, who responded with a nod and said, "big time."

And then there was that time Cheney told Sen. Leahy "Go F*ck yourself" on the Senate floor. Where was the outrage about these incidents? Where were all the people worried about the example the prez and VP were setting for our children?

Not defending Obama, but I also like to point out hypocrisy wherever I find it. Smiler
In the previews for the upcoming release of Toy Story 3, Barbie tells Ken "Nice ascot", accentuating heavily on the 'ass' part. That I find to be way more inappropriate since it's supposed to be a kids movie.

In my opinion, I don't have a problem with the leader of our country (no matter who it is) expressing a desire to kick some ass. Quite frankly, there are a lot of people who could use an ass kicking - if not literally then figuratively.

I wasn't posting on the forums at that time so I don't know if there was a rant to join, but I was just as disappointed with them as I am with our current "leaders".

As for Toy Story, I agree it is inappropriate. THen again, isn't it a Disney movie? Nuf said these days.
Well in IMO the president should demonstrate well refined behavior at ALL times and leave your "at home behavior" just that. At home. Have some class and even if you all want to talk like that it doesn't mean it is acceptable to the rest of society. However, when refering back to the presidental office I believe when Monica Lewinsky walked through the doors of the oval office all class went out the door. I'm not so sure the presidential office has ever recovered from that. Just sayin'.....
