Jimmy Carter was a coward and a Dimocrat and if he had bombed Iran right off the bat we would not be where we are today. Yes you sacrifice 50 lives but you save 3000 lives on 9/11. Reagan bombed Libya and we haven't heard a peep out of them since. We are not here to make friends, we are here to promote freedom.

I'm afaid that the freedom to disagree with the U.S.A. is one freedom that is not tolerated by this administration.

The question remains were you better off under Ronald Reagan in the 80's or Clinton Bush. Most will say the 80's were the best years we have seen and more than likely ever see in the future. Only a muslim would love Jimmy Carter. He promoted a fake peace. If you think we do not have freedom here in the USA I challenge both of you to go live with the muslims and see how much freedom you have then. The Iranian women had freedom in the 70's now they are slaves once again.

You are probably more disturbed that he was a DImocrat than anything else.......... But to his defense, he was no coward........ he was not even close to our best President,,,, but he was no coward..... shame on you!.....

To get to the level, or candidacy, of the the two major parties, your soul has been sold long ago.

Anyone who thinks McCain or Obama is going to make radical changes, for better or worse is kidding themselves. The actual parties and powers that be will give them marching orders.

Expect more of the same with plenty of the usual rhetoric. Lather, rinse, repeat.

As usual, Roddy gives vent to his feelings and rage -- no logic, no argument, no cogent comments, just, pure unadulterated rage. Well, if it gets him thru another day I guess it’s worth it. Roddy, perhaps, you should ask your nice doctor about an increase in the lithium you’re taking -- less rage and you’ll live longer.

Someone asked if we were better off during Reagans administration. That was the era of the trickle down theory when the Shoals unemployment rate was well over 30%. Yes, 30%. I remember standing in line for over 5 hours to put in an application at Jacks Hamburgers for a fry cook position and being told I was over qualified because I had a degree. Only he wealthy were better off during the Reagan years.
As far as the current presidential race goes, you have the choice of voting democrat (undisguised socialism) or republican (disguised racist fascism). Vote whichever you feel is the lesser of two evils, but remember the lesser of two evils is still evil.

Sorry, but fascism is by definition socialism -- Mussolini, father of fascism, considered fascism (his word) a leftist/socialist movement. He conceived of a totalitarian (his word, again) state looking after all its citizens. Unfortunately, it came with torture chambers even the Gestapo found barbaric.

As to Republican racism, I would point out both my former and present bosses were black -- Powell and Rice. Some racism! Only the Democrats, made an old kluxer third in line for the succession to the Presidency – old “Sheets” Byrd.

I never said that fascism wasn't a form of socialism. I'm saying that the dems openly admit their agenda while reps try to disguise theirs with religious fundamentalism. There really isn't a left or right. Theres just two groups in the middle that cant agree on which rights to deprive americans of.

Let's see 30% unemployment for the shoals - You wonder why? Oh Krogers pulled out because of unions, Ford closed up because of unions, Reynolds closed down because of unions. Most unions will eventually destroy their job base, kind of funny isn't. You pay these guys millions of dollars to eventually cause you to lose your job. Oh and you think the NEA union is doing a good job? They have destroyed our education system. Buy hey lets through another trillion dollars at it anyway.

Unfortunately, I remember reading of several industries that eyed the Shoals as a place to settle, however, the unions insisted the workers be unionized from the start. I assume that militancy was one of several reasons the industries never settled in the Shoals.

Hint, get them here and then, unionize, if you must. Ladies learned long ago not to scare good prospects for spouses by acting like wives aforehand.

I heard that one of the reasons north Alabama lost the VW plant was due to union influence.
