I need advise bad.My mother who is 88 years old recently signed a bank note not understanding what she signed.Are their laws that would protect her or charges that can be brought agianst anyone who takes advantage of the elderly.Can this bank note be squashed??

There are ways to protect your mom. You can go to her doctor and if he will declare her incompetent to make decisions concerning her money and welfare then there could be charges or at least get her money back. I work in assisted living and have seen things like this. One resident was about to loose all his land for a song until family stepped in and got him to a doctor and judge. Good luck.

Did someone go to her home with papers for her to sign?
Yes they did go to her house and got her to sign papers.However when they saw me checking on this the loan it was stopped.If i have not knew it would have went thru.The lady at the bank said this happens all the time.It just makes me sick that any elderly person is taken advantage of in this manner.
