I see the TD people have elected NOT to comment on this. I was wondering, is anybody else having trouble with this site freezing up after you post, or whenever you are changing from one topic to another ? This happens to me on both my computers, and I can just wait it out , or keep clicking on the "GO" arrow and it will finally do something.
Yes, TSC. I have Firefox (thanks to your help about a year ago), and I have the add blocker and no script on this old WIN 98 machine. I do not have the add blocker and no--script it on my laptop with XP, but I am using Firefox.
I have the same problem with them both.

It dosn't happen when I first start reading the forums, but after I have read several threads, it will start. Don't know if this is the real case, but it is like adx.timesdaily is trying to figure out what banner to send. Sometimes, it just takes a minute, but at other times it can be up to 5 minutes. Usually, I just start over again.
If this were just happening on this old 98 mach, I wouldn't think too much about it, but because it is on both my computers, I have suspicions that it is not on my end.
I am running DSL thru a LINKSYS Wireless-G router at my house, but it is the same problem on dial-up and in hotel rooms wireless.

I don't have a pause anything like this on any other website I visit.
Again, why won't the TD monitors address this ?
Look at the "S" in your toolbar for No Script. If it is an "S!" then you have "allow scripts globally" enabled. If that is the case, then click it and "forbid scripts globally".

Next, right click your No Script and hit OPTIONS. Then go to Whitelist and make sure adx.timesdaily is NOT in your whitelist.

Let me know if any of that helps. Also, James Holden might have some ideas. You may want to PM him. He is a genius-wizard on this type of stuff.

(If anyone has any ideas why Firefox is so slow, let me know. I enjoy the eBay add-in feature and the artistic embellishments, but the wait is abysmal.)

I believe your problem is stated in the first sentence of your post. You are running Vista. 'Nuff Said!
Firefox is faster on my XP laptop and IE Explorer on my Win98 machine crashes every time a site sends some crap. Started out crashing on PNJ.com (Pensacola newspaper), and later started crashing on TD paper. I think it is because they started sending moving pictures that jump and flash in their advertising banners, and my old unsupported Microsoft stuff just couldn't handle it.
I think I may later on try these forums with my laptop and use Explorer to see if that will help this problem.

I really don't object to advertisements, as I understand that's how all this is paid for, I object to having to wait on advertisements that change every visit to a page, and ads that crash my browser.
An update, well sorta:
I started using my XP laptop the last few days. I still get the pauses, but it says "waiting on timesdaily.com instead of the adx.timesdaily .
Get the same thing on both Firefox and explorer. I don't have any add-ons to Firefox on this cmputer.
TD still has not responded to this feedback post.

Kchrisgrees, I ALSO post occasionally when I've been drinking. Big Grin
