I've stated many times here that there is no question I will not answer truthfully and as fully as possible as long as privacy is respected. I try very hard to live up to that promise and would relish being called out on that if I've ever given any impression otherwise.

In a forum dedicated to the exchange or ideas, it seems reasonable to expect the same from others. I rarely get that from the fundamentalists here. They generally pretend not to see the question or give answers that are vague and evasive.

It's not just on this forum, but on many others I've frequented over the years. It is as if "Question Evasive Tactics" is taught in Christian Apologetic classes.

So, the question to the forum is: Why do you think these people evade tough questions?

That's an easy one. They cannot answer them. I take that back. They often do "answer" them.

Typical answers:
"Out of context"
"You hate God."
"You must be very unhappy."
"I will pray that God opens your eyes and Heart."
"I hope you have on fireproof underwear on judgment day."
"A just, merciful God loves you."
"You are an ignorant idiot."
"Christian bashing"
"Read the Bible."
"The Bible says . . . "
"You cannot understand Christianity until you open your heart to God."
"God created us, and so he can do anything he wants."
"We cannot know or understand all of God's ways."
"We are all sinners in the eyes of God."

Excellent. Yes, I certainly believe that is at least a small part of the issue.

It takes a special person to admit they don't have all the answers. It is evidently impossible to admit that when the Creator of the Universe Himself has convinced that person that he possess special knowledge that only those with "spiritual discernment" could possibly understand.
I know this thread is about me. May I remind you that I answered your question directly and clearly twice.

It is impossible for me to know what you're sins are.

There it is a third time. Refusing an answer is much different from not getting one at all. You can refuse it a third time if you wish, but I have answered all questions openly, honestly, and directly. You may keep whining about not getting the answer you want or you can accept the honest answer that you've been given.
Hi all,

Our atheist Friends come up with intelligent questions, such as: "Can God create a rock too big for Him to move?" -- and, they seriously (?) expect us to bother wasting the time to answer it?

Skeptik, my Friend, and you also, David -- if you will stop trying to "kill God" and doing your Athieist Two-Step -- possibly we could have constructive give and take discussions with you on the forum.

However, as long as you keep shooting your "atheist bullets and barbs" -- why should we bother stepping in front of them?

Just my thought.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Well, not quite. I simply asked Nash what sins would puts a person in hell. You, Bloviator, would be able to recite chapter and verse in 5 seconds. Nash refuses to answer. Why?

You refuse to describe what you would expect to see if a transitional fossil actually existed. Why?

These are just the latest questions you have avoided. There have been and will be plenty more. Why?

The reason Nash won't answer this particular question is because if he does, he will demonstrate his inconsistencies by showing how vengeful and spiteful and unjust his god is after writing reams about how loving and forgiving He is.

You wont' answer the fossil question because you know I will produce exactly what you describe.

You are both lying to yourself and everyone else. You are lying for Jesus. We all know that. I think you both know it, too.

Wrong.

I've answered your question three times. The last time I only used 11 words.

Again, I answered the question honestly and clearly. It just wasn't the answer you wanted. You want me to give a whole list of things you've done wrong and say you're going to Hell. Then you'll respond "Ah HA! You just judged me! That makes you just like Bill."

Sorry, I know what you're doing and I'm not falling for it. Move on.
Nash is demonstrating why religious belief (blind faith) can be so dangerous. Religion requires a person to totally reject reason and evidence in favor of preconditioned beliefs that have no empirical or logical foundation. It is very difficult for the person of blind faith to accept facts when they get in the way of their faith.

Ultimately, what we have seen happen over the course of human events, is that when a religious group or individual cannot defend their faith with reason and evidence, they resort to violence to defend their faith and/or force thaeir faith on others. As long as people insist on harboring religious beliefs, violence will be part of humanity.

Not true. I've provided evidence of my beliefs and not one threatened violence.

Yes, but you hide behind the robe of the Judge who does.

Follow my train of thught and lets see where the disconnect lies, shall we?

1. You believe in the deity who renders judgment upon those that do not think as you do.

2. You believe in a literal "bad place" where you soul goes when you die. You believe that your deity has personally imparted a method to you that you believe will keep your soul from entering this bad place.

3. Therefore, you 100% support the Judge's decisions and the resulting punishment scheme.

What I cannot understand about your beliefs is how you can believe all that yet you refuse to tell me how I can avoid the ultimate judgment.

This is a profound inconsistency, Nash. When inconsistencies are so profound, they beg to be re-examined to determine their legitimacy.
