The radio network's insolvency has more to do with demographics.  Those who regularly listened to Rush and others have decreased as they passed on. A change in the methods younger conservatives receive information is more the reason.

Breitbart and other conservative to libertarian providers use the internet, just as you do.  Somehow, I have a mental picture of Condie either listening to an old vacuum tube cathedral radio or similar B&W TV, despite the fact he uses the internet.

For whatever reason, the result should be a purifying and cleansing of the airwaves. But I don't buy your speculation that the deaths of multiple geezers was the death knell for the Nutjob Network.  The loss of sponsors precipitated by widespread objections to the hate-mongering on that network played a very large role.  The loathsome assemblage of rude, arrogant talk show hosts became more odious than informative.  They dug the network's grave with their tongues. And yes, Breitbart continues to be strong, but is not without problems of its own:

Like I stated, demographics.  The left, after failing to find anyone capable of holding an audience, attempted to use government to ban the conservatives by regulation or law.

Hate?  Where is the hate?  You made the statement so please give actual examples of Hate coming from Rush Limbaugh or any other talk show host on the Right?

See the Left/Liberals use the word Hate all while typifying the very thing itself.   Listen to them and you can sense the hatred oozing out of them and coming from them but not from those whom they attribute it to.  Too many gullible people making assumptions based not upon fact but more upon talking points of specific groups with a set agenda, groups that they themselves exemplify Hatred in the nth degree.

I watched the protesters of Trump's rally and most were the most foul mouthed and angry people I have seen.  They claim Trump hates, they claim Rush Limbaugh Hates yet it is they who are hateful people.  They actually HATE Trump and they actually HATE Rush Limbaugh.

Such Hypocrisy!

AM radio was on the skids until talk radio, mostly conservative, breathed new life into it. The left attempted shows of their own.  However, as most lefties have the sense of humor of a vulture with none of the drooling sentimentality, their shows died. Lefties attempted to use the power of government to force their shows on the air.  As I stated earlier, demographics is the real reason for the smaller audiences. Don't be surprised to see more AM stations signing off the air permanently.  If enough leave, the government might sell off the band width.

I'm betting the techies can find a use.  Since they would own the bandwidth, the FCC would have no power over them. like cable TV, the internet and satellite radio.
