Really hateful people

Yes! My mom use to say go back to bed and get up again. Some really have thier draws in a wad.

I donot know about earlier but I can say this is one of the meanest forums that I have ever been on. It seems like people just cannot accept the fact that people have opinions and put them here and then get berated for it. Opinions are every ones right not just one persons. Present company on post excluded on above comment!

This is my first reply to anything being discussed in the forums,I usually just enjoy reading the different opinions.I have been disappointed lately though because there are no discussions,just bickering like a bunch of children.

My point exactly.

That is why I do more reading than posting. Too much name calling and such.

I agree. It gives me the feeling that some of these people may have come from al.com forum since they get deleted so much over there.

That's why I had this message put below on all of my post that I post.

I know I can be down right onery. But, you haven't seen the really nasty forums, trust me on this one. I'm not posting hyperlinks to them.

Yea, you can get cantankerous at times, but you're not out-and-out mean.

What makes it worse is these guys come in stir up stuff and then run and change names and start all over again....then they kick off two of the good and long standing members....it's crazy...

I can get a little mean when I get frustrated. I like discussing things with people who have differing opinions. However, when name calling starts or people just refuse to acknowledge facts, it irritates me and sometimes I get a little insulting. Sorry if I offended anyone, I'm really not a jerk.

I agree. Its distasteful to see the such immature and spiteful behavior of some of the post on these forums. I am all for hearing an argument for a different opionion. Make it intelligent, and I will hear it. Otherwise, its like a sniping dog that you just must ignore.

It's hard when someone is being extremely rude, but with trolls, you have to stop responding to them. Their purpose is to stir up trouble and/or get a rise out of somebody. They really love it when they can see others start fighting because of something they started. It's kind of sad actually. Can you imagine that being all you have going?

if you want to see people name calling and just being plain rude go to my local newspaper... www.gazette.com. It's horrible and thats why I like it here (timesdaily), people seem to discuss alot more. Havent encountered any trolls yet.

I used to post quite frequently a good while back, but here lately I mostly read and don't respond anymore. People no longer discuss they just bicker. Used to be just in politics now it seems on every issue there is some kind of conflict. The ordeal with Smart Chick and Kindred is insane. Neither person should have been kicked off. TSC offered an opinion backed up by facts and Kindred offered opinion based on first hand experience and life learned lessons. The forum is just not as interesting anymore or at least not to me anymore!

Some people that I have seen, Take this forum way to serious, People this is just for Entertainment purpose. DO NOT attack a person for his/hers opinions. We are here to debate not fight!!!!!

I don't understand this. Are we not allowed to get into heated debates on here. I have been in a few very heated debates with TSC but yet we still pm'd each other, etc... We both understood that they were only debates. Why is this so hard--or what is so wrong with these kind of debates?

There is a difference between debate and attacks on a person's character. That's what it turns into sometimes and most of us are guilty of that from time to time. I think KS and TSC would be the first to admit they broke the rules TD gave them, much as I myself hate to admit that.

We will all try our best to behave, TD. Just let them back on. PLEASE!

Okay, Vick13, I have a confession. I've been reading these forums for a long time but recently decided to post because of a particular forum. I've seen your posts and have to tell you that my thoughts were that you were very erogant at times. After reading these posts I have chilled a little and realize that this is a place to vent our true feelings and thoughts - so I'm trying to be a little more understanding.

Sometimes I am a little erogant. And elegant. And arrogant. Sometimes I'm eroelearogant.

I see really negative remarks but they dont effect me. I think feeding into the negativity is what floats the boat. It is soooo funny to me when people get torn up over grammar and spelling and pounce on every mistake. Its funny that they dont even read the post or know anything about the topic but God forbid you make a mistake. I thank them though........I have checked my dictionary.com more than ever!!!

I spent nine years as a medical transcriptionist. My entire day was spent checking for spelling errors and grammar. I also worked with anal retentive doctors who pounced on every word. As a result of that I am super sensitive to that sort of thing. It makes it hard to read the postings and pay attention to what's being said when there are lots of spelling errors.

It's not really personal attack, it drives me nuts to see misspellings on a store sign. Maybe there's medication?

LOL......I understand. But, correcting something is alot different than some of these folks who attack and question the persons' intelligence..............

I agree with you Dixie....You need to choose a name...stick with it....good or bad...Changing your name only means your running from something you have said or you have made a fool of yourself and your afraid to admit it. Yesterday was my best day reading all the comments. I didnot see any thing that looked hateful to me it looked like people were actually trying to get along and that is the kind of forum I like since all of us are local. That is what makes this forum so special to me.

Hey, I'm married to the world's worst speller. He was trying to figure out why the word Tylenol wasn't in the medical drug book anywhere. When I checked he was spelling it Tahlahnal. Go figure.

He also types with one finger. I can't be in the room with him when he's typing, I have to restrain myself from choking him about the neck.

I have a thing about spelling too, Vick!!! But mine stems from working Crossword puzzles and Quypto-quizzes for the last 30 years, LOL!

If I don't know how to spell something and IF I have time to spell check I will do that, but if I don't have time for spell check then I just put (sp?) <--- Like that in there, that way I feel like I am showing people I KNOW I don't know how it is spelled, ya know?

I tri too speel everword corectly. But sumtimes it dont werk. But my grammer is well. I dislick crosswerds tho,... they never use the same werds i do.
