So, then, if the AFL-CIO is FOR someone, we should be against that candidate?

Then your mode of deciding how to vote is simply to find a list of AFL-CIO-endorsed candidates and vote against them?

Seems to be the case. Too bad you have so little confidence in your own personal ability to evaluate the credentials and performance of candidates. But your truncated and reductionist method will save you lots of time for such things as reading third-grade level books while moving your lips. Have fun.

Awww,is that the best you can do with a little brain of yours?
I repect that you may not vote for her , that is the Great Thing about Elections, we will cancle each others Vote !! To be honest I may not know Deborah Paseur as you do, as I am sure you do not know her as I do . Oh Yes some Deffence Attorneys I am sure don't like her !! But she did helped start a program in Lauderdale Co. that is still on going . And she is still supporting it now . This Program could care less if your Rich or Poor , Black or White .. your first time or 3rd time, as long as it helps Save one Life & family from going thru Pure Hell . I Dare say not another Judge from another Co in N W Alabama has did this.
If Deborah asks for my vote or my help, she will get it. I have found her to be fair in all of her dealings. She treats lawyers with respect, she protects the rights of victims and she is a favorite among law enforcement. She is a problem solver, who looks for ways to make the lives of those in front of her better and she goes to great lengths to make sure they do not come back. If the State of Alabama is lucky enough to land her on the Supreme Court, everyday, ordinary people will be so much better off.
DBP is a good judge. She is intelligent and fair and knows the law. She also understands the difference between the "letter" of the law and the "spirit" of the law. She has the character and wisdom to know how to apply both justly. Personally she is a fine person and professionally she is top notch. It would be good for Florence to have people at high levels of government as well. We should learn from her example and start electing people who have futures to grow in to and can progress up and get Florence on a bigger playing field state-wide and nationally. We tend to elect people who are already retirement age and retired and who have nothing else to do so they run for office and we end up with older people who are at the end of the road as leaders here now, and then have no future in a larger role and bigger office later. DBP is an example of doing it right. I wish her well.

May not, either. Historically, it does not. Big Grin

I think histroy will change this time, histroy getting ready to be made. The first black president. Wink

Obuma's a poor choice for such an honor. It's a shame that dems couldn't pick a better candidate, say one with some experience Big Grin And I doubt that Alabama is going to change their voting habits. Don't work that way.

BTW, it's "history", not "histroy". Big Grin Big Grin

Now I know why you have that nickname. Your posts--including your silly ad hominem tripe immediately above--have all the substance and quality of verbal flatulence
I KNOW DEBORAH BELL PASUER BOTH ON A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL AND PERSONAL AND SHE WILL MOST DEFINETLY BE GETTING MY VOTE. SHE IS A WONDERFUL, CHRISTIAN PERSON WHO DESERVES THE BEST. I WILL PRAYING THAT GOD LEAD HER IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION IN THIS NEW PATH SHE HAS CHOSEN TO TAKE..... HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH MISS. JEANIE (HER MOM) AS WELL....
I have known her for decades, so you might say I know her well. She and I did a lot of fund raising for charity, and worked on many projects side by side, hours on end.

And although I haven't lived in Florence for twenty plus years, I can't imagine her doing anything that wouldn't be in the best interest of all parties involved.

So from what I know, I would trust her.

Regards, miamizsun

P.S. I'm guessing that people who might oppose her are doing so on party affiliation only. Am I close?
No, at least not for me. Someone mentioned how she is alway for the "victim." Of course, not all her cases are criminal. I have heard some favoritism mentioned in civil cases as well as criminal. A judge has to disinteresed, and she has not always been.

I realize in a town/area this small there is alway some conflict. Many times a judge should have recused himself/herself and did not.
