If indeed you are actually dumb enough to have purchased an "Amish heater," then go ahead and slick the thing down with palm oil. That level of ignorant gullibility is irredeemable.
A couple of decades ago, palm oil was reputed to be extremely unhealthy for hearts, resulting in panic and unemployment in Indonesia, Now, science shows it to be heart healthy, resulting in the rush for palm plantations I rarely use it,. The Indonesian government needs to protect the old men of the forest. The critters are quite intelligent -- in zoos are considered escape artists. They can pick locks and will hide metal strips in their mouth, like Harry Houdini.
