Now that was funny.
Sad news but they've been around for a long time now. Guess they want to try other things. My favorite album is 'Green'. My favorite song by them is "Losing my religion". Don't really care for some of their older stuff though.
Not one of my favorite bands, but they put out some great music. I was fortunate enough to see them at Red Rocks outside of Denver a few years ago. It was a great show.
red rocks is a great place. i have caught phish there 8 times.
i caught rem in birmingham several years ago and again at voodoo fest a few years ago. i hate to see them break up.
You caught phish at Red Rocks? There's a vaccine for that! 
Another couple of favorites of mine from them is "Man on the moon" and "Night Swimming".
Who cares. I cannot recall any song they ever put out even. Come to think of it, I don't even remember any song put out by the Greatful Dead.
I guess us hard core jazz fans have tunnel vision. I have discovered many new talents on UTube, however. I absolutely adored the music of Amy Winehouse, and am in love with Joss Stone.
