OMG! I had most of these toys mentioned! As a matter of fact I still have my Chrissy doll in her original outfit and the box!!

How about a Mrs. Beasly doll? I had Johnny West and his horse Thunderbolt. I also had Jane West.

I had a "Walking Barbie" and does anyone remember Dancing Dawn?

DeepFat, you are right about the fridge box! That used to be the BEST thing in the world! You could make a play house or fort and then when the box tore up you took it to the nearest hill to slide on! Oh, the good old days!! LOL

I did have the first Barbie Doll ,,,,she was in a swimsuit and of course you had all the clothes to buy separately !! Wish I still had her....may be worth a few bucks!! Oh well..........

My first Barbie wasn't one of the first ones, but she was an early one.....bouffant hair and zebra striped swimsuit.

And i loved Pick-Up-Sticks!...it never occured to us that they were dangerous.
I had a pair of Klackers and after busting my hand for about the umpteenth time, my mother finally took them away from me.

Lego's were mentioned earlier. Legos are a lot different today than when I was a kid. Back then all I had was a big bucket of different sized blocks along with some axle blocks with wheels, propellers, windows, etc. But I determined what I was going to build. Lego sets today aare all designed to be something in particular whether it be something from Star Wars or whatever. There's no imagination in Legos today.

The G.I. Joe with the kung fu grip was a rip off. I had more fun with Major Matt Mason and my llunar crawler, as well as my erector set. G.I. Joe was cool, but after a while his life like hair started falling out and it looked like he had a ringworm.

I always wanted one of those with the kung fu grip!
I had a Steve Austin 6 Million Dollar man action figure. I had to make that bionic sound eh,eh,eh,eh,eh myself.

Every Christmas time, I give this advice, and it's always good.

Whatever you buy the kids, put it in a fridge box. A big, sturdy cardboard box.

You can imagine what they'll get more joy out of.

A fridge box - my FAVORITE toy of all. Ah the memories and imagination. Wonder where I could find one. They made a great hiding place.

A red wagon could be lots of fun too if you lived in a hilly place. Don't know how many times I turned that thing over trying to avoid either my horse or the briar patch or worse, the ditch.

One of my funniest memories is of my foster son talking his half-sister (my step daughter) into getting in a red wagon after he had tied the wagon to the german shepard....he then threw the dog's ball and my SD was hanging on for dear life and screaming her head off as the dog took off chasing the ball across the neighbor's yard and down the hill.
Hi all,

Here's one I bet few recall -- the doll, Pitiful Pearl. She was so ugly she was cute. Around 1960, my daughter just had to have one. That was her favorite Christmas present.

When we were little, my brother and I got boxing gloves. Since he always won, he got to be Joe Louis. Not sure who I was; but, my boxer never won.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I had a train that produced real steam when I was three. I still remember the stench it put off. It smelled like when you turn the heater on for the first time after the summer.

I also had something we called a spinning jenny. It had two seats and a place on it where you could hook up a hose pipe. The water pressure caused it to spin while you were showered with spraying water. That thing was fun!
