First - BJBG didn't say a word about the seperation of church and state. what he said was

and that happens in the constitution. the bit where congress is not allowed to make any laws promoting or curtailing religions.
In the 1st amendment, acctually. the first line of the section that points out the things that the goverment is allowed and forbidden to do

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

sounds to me like the wise old dead guys thought this line was of utmost importance - is was the first real rule they added after all the flowerly rethoric.

BILL brought up the seperation of church and state, and challeged BJBG to find it in the constitution. it isn't there. it was in a letter that jefferson wrote to someone, just discussing ideas. (don't remember who it was to. john adams maybe?)

so when BJBG didn't identity the line from the constitution, Billy declaired victory.

so in this thread it seem that Bill Grey is behaving like the news media.

take something soemone else said out of context, spin in a little until it means what you want, and then challenge them to defend it.

pretty underhanded tactic SillyBilly.

what i don't understand, tho, is this.
let's say, for the record, that the Big B.O. IS a muslim.
so what?
does it matter?

do christians.. well, bill at least... think that you can't be a good, kind, and noble person with good intentions and solid morals if you aren't a
part of their sect?

or is it that Bill is afraid that all muslims are like him, only they read a different book?
(is it just me, or do any of the rest of us see that? That if he were born in a middle east, Our Bill would be fireing mortars into school buses and weeping at how glorious Allah was for allowing him to blow up those 40 children?
Yup.. that's our Bill.. a non-violent Christian Terrorist. He'd never hurt you, unless you suffer paper cuts while he shoves his bible into your face.)

that's what scares bill about the idea of the president being a muslim. he's thinking.. Oh God.. what if he's just like me?

( with that being said, i want to make it clear this wasn't in defense of obama. i don't think he is kind, noble or anything else i mentioned earlier, i was just tryng to illustrate a point - Not all muslims = evil just like not all christians = Bill )
Bill your earlier comment about President Carter tells me all I need to know about you. The peanut man has done more for the less fortunate than any recent ex-president. Thats acutually doing something hands on, not hiding behind a computer moralizing and running people in the ground. Others may buy your so called christian belief, but for myself I will pray for you.

Hi Carl,

My references to Jimmy Carter were only about his presidency -- not about his humanitarian efforts.

You will notice that I wrote: "The only BAD Christian president I can recall in my lifetime is named Jimmy Carter, the peanut man. And, America would have been better off if he had stayed on his peanut farm."

And, I do believe this. I believe history will show him to be one of our weakest presidents.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
