I'm pretty much a libertarian, so if you want to abuse even hard drugs but you don't harm others, I won't mind stepping over your body on the street. If you try to harm me or others in my vicinity to procure your only reason for living, I think my natural rights overrule your right to choose a bad choice in life.
State options are probably the best for now. Let the states experiment with different methods of allowing drugs such as marijuana. After a decade or so of such, we will know best. Put a tax on the stuff, like tobacco to treat addicts, or provide basic funeral expenses.
Do what you want to do... Go for it... Just don't start blaming others, because your last job you got fired from, was because you like to smoke a little weed... and you didn't harm anyone else... Stupid company said I was a safety risk driving a fork lift..
the drug war has been a dismal failure, big pharma is cranking out for drug addicts than columbia and for-profit prisons are a joke...Time to do away with prohibition
