Texas maintaine many perogatives when she joined, never going thru territorial status, including retention of all state land and the ability to subdivide into upto 5 states, if so desired.
Perry stated absolutely, that he was against secession.

You are dodging the main point I made, interventor. The list of wacky "endorsers" of the Perry prayer fest is highly verifiable, both from sources critical of the affair and from The Response's own web site. Backers of this thing include some really wild nutjobs, and that is probably the reason why the organizers re-configured their web site to make it difficult to find the list of "endorsers." That move was calculated so as to retain the names online--so as not to offend the endorsers--but to place their names where they are not readily located--so as to give them much-reduced exposure. John Hagee, C. Peter Wagner, Mick Bickle--do your own research and see what a bunch of off-center flywheels are endorsing this politico-religious conclave!
