Looking for good choices of "Lunch Restaurants" to eat at in Rogersville/Elgin area. Here's what I have so far that we have tried on our lunch break. Please add any that I don't have listed, thanks!

Also I gave a star rating from 1-4 *'s on how well we enjoy the food.

ELGIN

***Big D's @ 101/72- Good food, call ahead and have ready when you get there. Oh, and AWESOME chocolate milkshakes!

**Subway @ Elgin- Its Subway..

*Shell @ 101/72- Typical gas station food

**Lash's Seafood @ 101- Ate there once, it's ok.

***Walton's @ 101- Meats and veggie plate, it's pretty good.

**Chevron (Between Elgin & Rogerville)- Better than average gas station food.

ROGERSVILLE

****Whitt's BBQ- Great BBQ sandwich lunch special $5 with a drink!

***Big Daddy's Pizza (Foodland shopping center)- Great 10" personal pan for $5 with a drink!

***Fat Cat's on 72- Meat and veggie plate, better than average and $6 get you out the door!

***Cafe Savanna (behind new town hall)- Great little sandwich/coffee shop all homemade even the bread! Also have soups and salad I believe.

**Fiesta Mexican(behind Mickey D's)- It's mexican food, and they are kinda slow. maybe call ahead?

****Stanfield's(behind BP)- Great lunch menu, call ahead and sit down and have ready when you get there!

Last but not least..
****Country Cuisine(across street from Tiger Hut in shopping center type building) This place has by far the best bang for your buck if you like the meat and veggie type lunch. You get a hearty portion of meat and vegetables and also you get a nice dessert(if you can hold it). All that and a drink for like $6.50 and you're out the door.

I have to disagree about Primo's Pizza being good. The first time I ate it, I didn't like it, but I decided to give it another try--just in case they were just having a bad go the first time. The second time it was just as disgusting as the first. The crust is awful and excessively greasy (even for pizza). I did get a salad the second time and it was fresh but the Ranch dressing was horrible...I ended up using what I had in the fridge. Big Daddy's Pizza in Rogersville is my favorite but the shop itself is terribly run down.

I also like The Burger House but beware--they will charge you for every little thing...salad dressing, sauces, refills, etc. You have to ask for a receipt and then it is not itemized. I stopped eating there because I felt like they continuously overcharged me--even when I didn't get sauces or refills.

I think Waltons is a great choice and so is Stanfields. Stanfields has one of the best salad bars and the friend cheesecake is hard to beat. Waltons has good fish and hushpuppies.

I want to try out the Country Cuisine that was mentioned.
