I'm sure a lot of you heard this on the news today. It seems that Mitt Romney, when he was in prep school, had a habit of picking on and bullying gays.

He hasn't denied it, but claims he doesn't remember. And he also claims he is a different person now.

Now I realize there isn't a single one of us who didn't do stupid things which we regret, especially back when we were that young. I think it's very possible that even if this did happen, he HAS changed. But I also know that, from my experience living in Mass. when he was governor, that Mitt CAN be a bit of a bully. He likes to get his way, and he enjoys power. The healthcare law that he implemented in Mass. is a perfect example if you conservatives will be honest with yourselves. Mitt was the one who came up with the idea of a mandate. He wanted to FORCE people to buy insurance.

The only defense I have heard from conservatives of Romneycare vs. Obamacare, is that it is a states rights thing. Um, I don't believe that. All of the things you hate about Obamacare hold true in Romneycare.

I also wonder what this will do to the race for the Whitehouse. Romney's recent affirmation that he is against gay marriage might now be construed as more "gay bullying". I'm not saying it is, but in this political climate, I think this could just turn out to be Romney's "Swiftboat Veterans", his Achilles heel. I'd be willing to bet that the Dems will also tie this in with earlier accusations that Mitt enjoys firing people, etc.

No one knows yet what the fallout from Obama's support of gay marriage, and from this news about Romney will be, but I think right now at least, it doesn't bode well for Republicans.

Distraction.  None of it means a thing.  Obama said he is for gay marriage but isn't going to do a thing about it neither is  Romeny.  Obama pushed a girl down and Romeny helped shave some dude's head in 1965.

What does mean something is the economy and jobs and the only morality question is should we leave our kids 1 trillion dollars in interest payments alone.

Wow anything but talk about the problems of today. This happened what 40 plus years ago? Meanwhile unemployment is over 8% maybe a little more likely a lot, Iran wants nukes, the GSA is running amuck and Holder's justice department is a joke. I can see why people don't want to run for anything. Who wants to talk issues when we can talk birth certificates, high school hijinks and who smoked pot in college?

Keep focus gang. The Democrats are starting their campaign of distraction. Who cares one way or another if Obama pushed down a little girl or if Romney shaved a gay’s hair? They were both young and stupid like most young people are. Now if they were torturing small animals there might be something to worry about.

Let’s keep our eyes on the ball. It’s all about competence, it’s about national defense, and it’s about the economy and deficit.  Most importantly it’s about your freedom from Government.

It’s a choice of maintaining our Republic or choosing the road to socialism. And on the road to socialism, once you reach a certain point there is no return.

Bwwaaahahahahaha... I needed a good laugh, so thanks.

Sounds like another season of politics as usual from those who say they aren't going to participate in politics as usual.  Here is what problem I have with both supporters of the Democrats and Republicans.   I'll hear people make such statements that they wouldn't vote for Obama because he pushed down a girl and another will say i won't vote for Romney because he bullied a boy in High School.  Here we have unprecedented debt and unemployment that if everyone was counted would be well above the value it is now which is in excess of 8% nationwide.  We have North Korea and Iran with very unstable leadership and working on Nuclear weapons along with a middle east that is becoming far more radically muslim than ever and we are worried about things from these guys high school?

Here is what I believe and that is you NEVER will find a candidate without some skeletons in their closet and there isn't a perfect political candidate.  Jimmy Carter was one of the most moral and I doubt he bullied anyone yet he was one of the most, if not the most, ineffectual President we have ever had and most certainly potentially the worst President of our lifetimes.  The President often has to make very unseemly and not to nice of a call during their term.  WE (our country) don't need some "Boy Scout" who will wring his hands and be indecisive about making decisions because he's either worried about polls and how it will look or because he thinks it might be morally wrong.

I'm looking for a candidate who is economically strong and experienced.  Someone who I believe can honestly develop a plan and achieve making inroads toward reducing our Nation's debt as well as keeping a balanced budget.   As much as these candidates and their families has to endure I'm surprised they can find anyone to run.  Maybe i'm crazy but that's just my opinion.

Politics, by it's vary nature, is sleazy.  But it is necessary to be sleazy. When you have to deal with those who will stab you in the back after shaking your hand, or smile while plotting your demise, being a nice guy won't work.

The Washington Post, which once took on Nixon, is reduced to exposing that 47 years ago, Romney may have cut a fellow student's hair?

That Obama was both junkie and pusher during his student years didn't bother his followers or the reporters.

During Bush's elections, the press dwelled on Bush's SAT and college grades vs. Kerry's and Gore's. Yet, didn't even ask why Obama hid his.  When a blogger offered $10,000 for the information, reporters went wild -- after the blogger.

Demagogues, frauds, sycophants, the lot of them. None would be worthy of polishing Edgar R. Murrow's shoes.

I would hate for the Dems to label Mitt as a bully considering what they currently have in the WH. A bully who manged to wrangle a healthcare plan into law that will probably be struck down by the SCOTUS and one which was never read prior to implementation.

A bully who then made threatening gestures to the SCOTUS as they reviewed his previous actions.

A bully who has managed to pass several items of concern through presidential power without having the blessings of the legislature.

A bully who selectively calls out law enforcement for doing their job when he thinks they are being prejusticed.

No, Mitt may have bullied gays as a young man, but Obama is still bullying the people of the United States in an effort to promote his agenda.

Again, there is not a dimes' worth of difference in the two when looked at from this POV.

Just like I posted, obama ONLY came out in support of same sex marriage AFTER he realized he had to in order to get or keep votes, and they're eating it up.  I read the "bullying gays" thing and it was more about the kid's hair. Of course they worded it carefully so it would appear it was about the kid "maybe" being gay. Remember the "white" hispanic that killed the black kid?

While due to a campaign worker's use of term (Etch-a-sketch) that many Democrats now want to use against him it seems that it's utmost hypocrisy in doing so.  Surely one can find ample flip-flops, reverses, inconsistencies within the Obama administration not to mention a number of times that he inserted himself in things he should have stayed out of.  Not to mention the times he made apologies for America and did things that were unPresidential such as his calling out the Supreme Court's decision in the State of the Union Address and many more.

Granted he didn't have a lick of true experience for the position he was elected to and it's been on the job training ever since but three years is long enough to learn what is and is not Presidential.   If Obama wanted to take notes on what is being Presidential or acting Presidential then he need look no further than George Bush who was and has remained Presidential throughout his retirement.  He might not have been a good President but he certainly knew how to act Presidential and show respect for the Position.

Romney’s View on Gay Marriage Not Evolving

FORT LUPTON, Colo. – Mitt Romney’s view on same-sex marriage isn’t evolving at all. He told a local reporter here today that domestic partnership benefits — including hospital visitation rights– are “appropriate, but that the others are not.”

Mr Obama has:

Mr. Obama was against same-sex marriage as a candidate in 2008 but supported civil unions.

Oddly enough, if they both talk civil unions, they agree.

Romney also said on ABC News, “That’s why as a society we say we’re going to call marriage what it has been called for 6,000 years or longer — a relationship between one man and one woman.”

He sounds like he's hedging his bets on the age of the world. He's trying to court the 6,000 year fundamentalists without coming right out and saying it. It's just politics. If he is elected, we will see the REAL Mitt Romney - the liberal one.
