Sadly, I'm afraid I can't take credit for that; it's been a long time coming.

LMM, please, PLEASE stop trying to put words in my mouth. I say exactly what I mean, and I have never said that there are no successful home-schooled students. The way you continue to try to toss in red herrings and straw men, I'm pretty darn sure I understand what your problem was in dealing with teachers and administrators.

Is this not your words? That you have not met those kids where it was appropriate or successful?
Sorry beeb, no red herring or straw man unless you want to count the one you can't seem to find.

As for my 'problem' with the admin, you have no clue what you're talking about, again.

Please, the next time you quote 'facts', give the documentation.

Thanks.

LMM my friend, I've never stated otherwise that I recall.

Our disagreement is that you are in this for you child (as you should be) and I perhaps see a bigger picture.

I love our public schools and think you should too so will arm wrestle you until you give in and agree. Wink
DC with a population of just under 600,000 has a budget of $5.4 billion. Compare this with Memphis with a population of 660,000 and a budget of $2 billion.

DC needs to police only 40 to 50 percent of its territory, as 28 federal police agencies provide support at federal facilties and 174 embassies provide their own security.

Yet, our mayor and city council can't provide the basics of a decent education, despite spending per student rivaling the best in the nation. Improvements are being made, but by small increments.

So sad, Howard. Is there still a voucher system in place?
