So, gun control folks, tell me how Californias strict gun laws did anything to prevent this guy from amassing his huge collection of ILLEGAL weapons.  Right out of your playbook - ban the guns and only criminals will have the guns.....

DA: Sandra Bullock's stalker owned 'arsenal' of machine guns

Los Angeles (CNN) -- The man arrested at Sandra Bullock's home last week allegedly owns "an arsenal of weapons" that included a half dozen illegal machine guns.

Joshua Corbett, who was charged with stalking Bullock, burglarizing her home and possessing one illegal gun, now faces much more serious charges, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

The discovery of the arsenal during a search of Corbett's Montrose, California, home has led to 19 felony counts, including seven counts of possession of a machine gun, two counts of possession of an assault weapon and 10 counts of possession of a destructive device, the prosecutor's spokeswoman said.

A judge raised Corbett's bond from the $185,000 set when he pleaded not guilty last week to $2.2 million Wednesday. He is being held in the Los Angeles County jail.

Los Angeles police arrested Corbett, 39, at Bullock's home in the early morning hours of June 8 after he allegedly climbed a chain-link fence topped with barbed wire that surrounded it. Investigators believe he sent more than an hour inside before he was found. Bullock was home at the time, but police have not said whether her young son also was there.

Little information about Corbett has been released, although CNN confirmed through FAA records that he has a private pilot's license.

The charges carry a potential maximum of 12 years in prison, if the suspect is convicted, Deputy District Attorney Wendy Segall said.

Beam me up, Scotty, there's no intelligent life here......

Thats not preventing criminals from gaining access to guns - the key point in your argument to expand background checks.  You know, the one thing that you Liberals will actually admit to.  So, expanded background checks wont prevent the school shootings (according to the former Everytown executive director), gun bans and expanded background checks (in fact, some of the strictest gun control laws in the US) did nothing to prevent the recent killings at UC Santa Barbara nor did they prevent this stalker from amassing an arsenal of illegal machine guns, but the Liberal solution is to expand these laws?

I dont expect you to understand.  These posts are more for the sane folks you Liberals pander to with your lies about gun control......

It's paranoia only if it isn't true. This administration doesn't trust normal folks:

For Immediate Release

Century International Arms Recent Vermont Employee Layoffs Due to Import Denial

Century is one of the country’s largest importers of highly-collectible, historical
firearms.  It is also one of the largest employers in Franklin County, providing its
employees and numerous vendors with high-quality manufacturing jobs.

Century had been planning on a large importation of vintage WWII, M1 Garand
Rifles from the South Korean government.  All the normal approvals were in place
to obtain the import permits for this sale from ATF.  Century had invested considerable
funds in seeking the approvals and financing for this transaction.  It was expected that
this nearly 30 million dollar transaction would have provided a reliable revenue stream
to Century even during the general downturn in firearms demand in 2014. Additionally,
the sales proceeds were going to be used by the South Korean government to purchase
modern firearms for their defense forces.

Unfortunately and unexpectedly, The White House intervened at the last minute and
blocked this importation.  This importation was denied despite our explaining that the
denial would harm the company and pointing out that there is no rational, gun-control
reason to block the importation of these historic, 70-year-old firearms.

As a consequence of this denial, there has been a reduction in work and Century has
had to make the difficult decision to layoff 41 Vermont employees.  Nevertheless,
Century has modernized production in several key operations areas, developed new
products, and intensified our sales efforts in various markets. We fully expect that
the industry-wide downturn in demand from government, law enforcement and
consumer customers will rebound in the coming months. When that rebound
happens, Century will be well poised to take advantage of these future growth
opportunities and expand our workforce.

Century is grateful for the support it has received so far from Senator Leahy and
Governor Shumlin.  And Century is still hopeful that the White House will reconsider
its decision on the Korea sale and allow this important transaction to proceed, which
would have a direct, positive impact on Century’s employees, Vermonters, and
America’s gun collecting community.

They are not making fun of you, they are deflecting with nonsense because they have no foundation for their argument.

I am, however, getting a laugh out of watching the most inbred looking person on this forum make fun of southerners and their culture.  The fact that he is a yankee is just the icing on the cake and further proof that de-evolution is alive and well north of the Mason-Dixson line.

YES! HOOBASTANK! YOU WIN TEH INTERWEBZ!

De-evolution, you say?

I'm not the one taking things someone on the internet says personally.  Especially when that someone has already explained to you that it was an example used to make a point, not an insult...and not even directed at you in particular....but apparently I'm hitting too close to home, Hooby...

I honestly had no idea you so resembled my comments/descriptions. You must be new here.

I will try harder to be more sensitive next time.

hoob, just what is the Southern Culture? being last and getting our azzes kicked? like the time we grabbed our squirrel guns and got most everybody killed or burned out over what we to this day can't figger out.  my poor gggdady ended up killed and buried at Shiloh and couldn't even write his name.......

[I have his pay vouchers]........... while the Yankees hired prisoners to fight in their place.

I'm thinking SARCO was importing them somewhere in the late 1970's and selling them to LEO for like $135.  Do you remember "Ye Ole Hunter's Lodge" of the 1960's?  The GCA of 1968 really ended the violence, didn't it?

Far as RP disturbing self-portrait goes ... it's a work in progress.

are you in favor of eliminating all background checks?

Eliminating all background checks - no.  There are processes in place that allows citizens to have their 2nd amendment rights suspended (and rightfully so).  There has to be a process in place to check for that when retail establishments sell guns.  Those processes are already in place in gun stores, pawn shops and gun shows - whether the Liberals want to believe that or not.  If a licensed dealer sells a gun at a gun show, a background check is done.  I do not agree with expanding it to private sales.  You would only be enforcing it on folks that are already law abiding citizens.  Private sale background checks would not prevent a single gun from being sold to a criminal, because criminals are not going to go through the background check system to buy guns from one another.

The issue Liberals always seem to forget, gloss over, or totally ignore, is that the background check system that is in place is not enforced.  I seldom hear someone who supports expanding background checks ever talk about the fact that those that fail the check, which usually means they have committed a felony by lying on the form, are never prosecuted.  So, they go out, fail a background check, then are allowed to go purchase a gun on the black market if they wish because no one comes and knocks on their door with a warrant for committing the felony of lying on the background check form.

Open the door and allow anyone to possess any type gun?

Any person who is able to legally own a gun should be able to purchase any type of gun they wish.  Even fully automatic - which they can now in most states if they are willing to spend the money to get the license.  Notice, before others start in on rocket launchers and tanks, I said gun.

As you can see here - this bozo had six fully automatic machine guns illegally.  You think any of the laws that are on the books have kept him from collecting those guns?

My understanding was that Liberals were against any voter id requirement, even if the state enacting it offered free voter ids with photos. They said it was too restrictive on a certain class of people that didnt have the ability to go get the id to vote.

I've read that any county court house in Alabama can give you a picture ID.  Thats good, in Tennessee it isn't that simple.  It will restrict democrats more than republicans

More than 6,000 dead people are registered to vote in Nassau County and records show about 270 of them actually voted after their deaths, according to a Newsday analysis of voter registration and federal death records.

The paper reports dead registered voters in Nassau County account for nearly 25 percent of the 26,500 dead people registered to vote statewide.

Better to talk fee-sees than think with **it.

Alabama GOP offers $1,000 for information on voter fraud

Tuesday is the first test of Alabama’s voter ID law – and the state’s Republicans are desperate to dig up some voter fraud. So desperate, in fact, that they’re offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who helps them find any.

as i said... if you have proof.. then you can claim the reward.. if not.. well, just more lies from the rt. wingnuts. the party of stupid has proven themselves, once again.
