I love watching the classic episodes of SNL on Comedy Central. I had tried to explain to my 16 yr old daughter about the LANDSHARK...I couldn't do it justice.

She finally saw it the other day. HAHAHA! It was great to watch her "discover" SNL...and, now it's funny when I beat on the bathroom door hollering "landshark" at her.

What were some of y'all's favorite skits?

OMG Stuart is hilarious!
Eddie Murphy when he did Mr. Rogers neighborhood and the Regee favorite "Kill the white people"

oh and also the one where he plays Tyrone Green, inmate poet. His Stevie Wonder was great and so was his James Brown.

Is it just me or is there a similarity between comedy in music in that the comedian/group who is doing the most drugs is best?

Chevy Chases was really funny too.
I loved Eddie Murphy's version of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. I think one poem he read was "Hear de dog in de night. Do he bite? Kill my landlode, kill my landlode." Then remember the one about what Santa was bringing for Christmas...an eviction notice. Or was that the same one maybe? Anyway, funny stuff.

I love Stewart! And the woman who snorts or clears her throat? And Mrs. Swan! Looook lika man!

Nobody does the kind of comedy better than SNL in the olden days. The commercials were so good sometimes I didn't know if I was watching a real commercial or SNL?

Remember the Julia Child skits when she'd just chop off her hand?
I thought the Lunch Lady Land skit and anything with Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, David Spade, & Will Ferrell were classic. And also the Patrick Swayze & Chris Farley Chippendale auditions were funny! Eddie Murphy was funny too on the old episodes I have seen--it seems he did one about Christmas in the projects and said their version of a Cabbage Patch doll was a stick with a head of cabbage on it. It was so funny how he said that with the disgust in his voice. SNL is always good for a laugh.
