Good question, why don't you research it.

The ones getting the $73,000 raise are Bentley buddies aren't they? If so, they have never deserved a raise.

That is a statement of opinion, not when those positions last received a raise.  Come back with something concrete, rather something you pulled out of your duffelbag.

Alabama is broke. Can Alabama afford to give a $73,000 raise to someone. School teachers can't get a small raise, the trooper force is about 1/2 of what it is supposed to be. How much of that is pulled out of my "dufflebag"?

Still an opinion.

Dire and Best, I'll quit saying that Alabama is broke. I won't mention Bentley is gonna veto the general fund bill because of funding. That has to be wrong because both of you seem to think Alabama is on solid financial footing. The teachers have generous raised and the number of state troopers is what is called for. The prisons are in good shape and are not overfilled and in danger on being taken over by the feds. All that bad stuff is not happening and any mention of it is just being pulled out of a "dufflebag". It has to be that way because both of you say so.

As Dire posted, try to act like an adult and stay on subject. I still can't figure out why you stick your nose into Alabama's business, you should be concerned with Tennessee, and how it's being taken over by the muzzies. Because you just post crap, never have facts or links to back up your crap, you get all in a huff when people call you on your mess, and start crying. I'll tell you straight up, from what I have seen of the teachers in the last 20 or so years, they are OVERPAID. On the list of the 10 worst states for teacher's pay, TN is #9, Alabama is not on the list at all. So again, pull your beak out of Alabama's business and take care of your state.

The chart in the article is not accurate for Tennessee.  I don't know for other states, but Tennessee teachers won't average $47,000 salary per year.

What do Tennessee teachers average?

Oops.  Never mind.

I'd not read

So I'm guessing that more than certain average retired TVA union members made?
