I think the word science has thrown me off.
In the back of my mind I've always known that
God created science when creating this world. It
just came with it because he had to make everything
logical for us. We accept our science because we are
of it. We are confused when he does anything illogical
like a anastigmatic. Anyone with a stigmata bares watching.
In the 1960's an Italian with hands and feet wounds died.
After his death his wounds healed, but not until after
he died. As those called "The Incorruptibles" have been
preserved. Hundreds of later they can look good as new.
The flesh is fresh as it can be.

While she took with her the knowledge of certain secrets the Virgin gave her, one secret remained hidden in our presence. The most spectacular of all the incorruptible's, Bernadette's miraculously preserved body remained buried in a damp grave for thirty years until the cause for beatification was taken up. To this day, the body of Bernadette is a profound source of inspiration and of mystery surrounding the ways of the Lord. The face of Bernadette is one of surreal beauty, and will remain for us always the face that gazed into the eyes of the Mother of God.
Mystery of Padre Pio´s Stigmata Analyzed by Scientist.
Congress in Rome Focuses on Capuchin´s wounds ROME, APRIL 12, 2002 (Zenit.org)
an exert of the article is below;

Critics who claim that the stigmata of the likes of Padre Pio are not authentic have a tough opponent to contend with: modern science.

"From the medical point of view, the stigmata cannot be considered as wounds or sores, because they do not heal even when treated," Dr. Silvestri explained. "They neither become infected nor do they decompose; they do not degenerate in necrosis, and do not exude a bad odor. They bleed and remain constant and unaltered for years, against all laws of nature."

"By their internal and external characteristics, the real stigmata studied to date are outside all the laws that regulate physiopathology and must be considered as phenomena of a supernatural character," Silvestri concluded.
I'm sorry. The body of history of Christian, and especially Catholic, duplicity leave me entirely skeptical.

I almost hate to bring up the Shroud of Turin again, but it's a fine example of a "miracle" being shot down in flames by recognizable and demonstrable science.

So, I am skeptical about "incorruptibles" and such. Why did the Italian with stagmatic wounds die? Infection?

Well preserved corpses prove nothing.

Color me unconvinced.

BJ---- The recognizable and demonstrable science proved it was repaired in the
1200's. they took a corner section of the shroud that was repaired. The latest
science stated it's not man made, it's not a photograph. there was an hour of
this on t.v. not long ago. To those who follow it's a closed case. your late.

Did you ever see the portrait of Our Lady of Guadalupe? same difference, a
miracle. In the 1531 the colors were not even invented yet. A poncho with a life
of 2 to 3 years, you can still see it to day. Very very interesting happenings.
