at illegal profiling: <<

<<<Joe Arpaio, the zealously anti-immigrant Maricopa County Sheriff pursued for his endorsement by leading Republican presidential candidates, is now being pursued by the U.S. Department of Justice for violating the civil rights of thousands of people.

A three-year DOJ investigation released today found that Arpaio ran -- and continues to run -- an abusive, power-hungry regime with widespread discrimination and systemic, unconstitutional practices. The Department said Arpaio disproportionately targeted Latinos for unlawful detentions and arrests, retaliated against those who criticized his policies and punished Latino inmates who spoke limited English.

The charges were best summed up by a Justice Department expert who described Arpaio’s case as the “most egregious” ever on racial profiling he has personally seen or reviewed.>>>

Front? If by 'front' you mean avant garde, maybe. I always thought of the two organizations as locked arm in arm, skipping down the red brick road of "progressivism".

I love the way the current administration and their justice department label everyone as the "most widespread display of discrimination" they have seen.  Seems llike they said the same thing about Alabama's new Immigration law, which has served to decrease the amount of unemployed as well as the burden on the welfare and unemployment doles. This administration is playing a dangerous game and for most of us we see that Sheriff Joe is not only doing the right thing, but the only thing that is going to bring us back from the precipice we have placed ourselves upon. Go Joe Go, I support him all the way.

The real shame is Sheriff Joe's parents weren't blessed with many more children just like him. I wish every Sheriff in America was just like Sheriff Joe, a man not afraid of the Cowardly Politically Correct.

The DOJ isn't that what Eric Holder was appointed to head up as Attorney General and has been in hot water over his "Fast & Furious" and other criminal events, but what would should one expect of a Obama appointee.

I am sure Sheriff Joe is losing sleep at night worrying about people such as yourself who are afraid to ienforce the laws on the book and are not willing to take the steps necessary to protect those who elected him.

I will continue to support Sheriff joe, as most of the good Americans in this country will do, in order to keep the whiny liberal scumbuckets from browbeating a great American hero.

I care not about whether he is or is not worried.  What is important is to get that conscienceless varmint removed from the office he has for so long abused.

I like how Joe is tough on crime. However, he's been a HUGE liability to Maricopa County and I've heard of several civil misconduct verdicts reaching in to the millions. I believe the county's insurance company increased their liability deductible from an already high of $1 million per incident to $5 million. That's crazy!

Was out in Mesa Az for about 8 months in 08, I think all border state sheriffs should be trained by Joe, they all hate him but he keeps getting elected by the people of that county.

The reason he get re-elected is that Maricopa County Arizona has more rednecks per capita than Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia combined. The way he is going now, re-election is the least of his problems. He will be lucky to stay out of jail.
