Unless you've not been listening to the news or been in a coma for the last week or so you undoubtedly have heard about Jamal Khashoggi, the Washington Post reporter rumored to be killed by a Saudi hit squad.  There are various degrees of outrage among politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, and the media is totally on top of the story and come News (If you can call them that) organizations like CNN are attempting to blame Trump in some wicked skewed way.

If what is being reported by Turkey is true then it is horrible what happened and it's not something that anyone should condone.  Many Conservatives are curious though where was the outrage when the four Americans, including our Ambassador, were killed in Benghazi?  There sure was not as much outrage as there is about this one journalist and not near the time spent on reporting on it.  Additionally, does anyone remember what Hillary's comments were when questioned about Congress?  If not mistaken, and I don't think I am, she stated At this point and time "what difference does it make"?  Can anyone imagine if Trump was questioned, by the media, about the reaction to Khashoggi's likely murder at the hands of a Saudi hit squad and he responded with the exact same words as Hillary spoke to Congress when questioned about the four Americans killed at Benghazi?

I think I can imagine how that would be received.

This is why I despise most of the Middle East, Jordan and parts of Lebanon, excepted.  Its a nest of vipers.  Not only do they bite outsiders, they bite each other, as well.  The Saudis probably killed Khashoggi.  Turkey is one to complain. Erdogan has locked up more journalists than any other nation, plus tens of thousands more on a false charge of a conspiracy against him .

I assume you left your deflection shield on again.  The article refers to financial transactions made 17 to 25 years ago, except for the emoluments clause.  As to the emoluments clause, that doesn't usually concern commercial transactions, unless payments are made well in excess of the services or items received.  If, the Saudis paid 10 times the going rate for staying in his DC hotel, one might have a case.  (I reviewed minor such when in the service).  Even, a judge ruled against Trump, he would only have to reimburse the federal government for any revenue received.  It would be up to the government to hire auditors and cost accountants to determine that debt.  The revenue received must be allocated against the costs of services, taxes, lease payments to the government for the building, the portion going to other investors, etc.  Only then, would Trump be assessed a portion of the revenue to pay to the government.  Most likely, the government would spend about $1,000 for every dollar Trump would be required to pay.  FYI, the federal government spend millions to make the Old Post Office building profitable. That was an epic failure.  Trump made it profitable and sends the government a nice lease payment every month.
