Florence has a problem with sell of alcohol at sidewalk cafes (Yum and Odette's) because state liquor laws only allow outside sales if the land is part of the cage.  Any change the city could lease the sidewalk area to the cafe for a dollar a  year?

If it makes this a livelier place to live, so be it.  And if it brings in more taxes to the city, it's good.  While they're at it, they need to repeal that archaic 50/50 food/alcohol percentage that our restaurants are stuck with.

We need all the restaurants possible to be profitable and to stay in business.

Haven't been to Huntsville in last decade, have you.  I know Florence wishes to make east Florence an entertainment zone.  Every time  I pass the sign, I thing Potemkin.

Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Huntsville have festivals (?) (don't know if that is the right word) on the river.  This includes many types of activities and alcohol consumption in at least part of the area.  There is a lot of money raised and fun had.  The Quad cities need to take lessons.  I forgot, Clifton Tn also has a river festival, and has beer, but there is a line where alcohol is not allowed.  NW Alabama needs to lighten up and have some fun.
