Gregory has been making a lot of promises he has had to backtrack on.

Don Terry plans to bring in an adminstrator to run the courthouse, file for federal grants, and do the menial tasks while he serves in the field stopping crime. When you compare the experience of the two, there no comparison, Don Terry is super experienced where Len Gregory really has none. A good deal of Gregory's experience is working as a guard in the corrections system and as a school resource officer. very little adminstrsative or crime fighting experience at all.

With all the negative talk about Mays, I would be surprised if he gets it again, but you never know.
My vote will be between Gregory & Terry...just don't know which one yet.

Negative talk is just that...TALK. I have known Ronnie for decades...he is a sheriff. I don't know the other candidates and not one has asked for my vote. I believe Ronnie has more experience as a sheriff than the rest of the field combined.

Len Gregory would be honored to talk to you and tell you his plans. I think he is exaclty what the dept. needs. He has great plans and will be working for his men and this county. Its time for a change and i think Len Gregory would be the one to make the changes we need in Colbert County.

For the primaries you will have to declare yourself a democrat to vote. After primaries (in any election) you do not have to declare a party.

You will have to declare yourself a democrat to vote in the primaries. You do this when you go to the poll. Most likely there will be little to vote on on the republican side anyway.

Actually, you are INCORRECT about Len Gregory. He DOES plenty of experience to be a Great Sheriff. He is in the military but also is CURRENTLY and has been for years a Police Officer for our community. He is NOT the school Resource Officer, so before you make a statement make the FACTS be true.

Much of Len Gregory's experience in law enforcement was as a school resource officer at Colbert County High school. I know exactly what I'm talking about.

Really?? Well I know what Im talking about also! The people who know Len Gregory KNOW what he does NOW not years ago, and the people KNOW he is a WORKING officer not sitting at a school. He is a good person, a hard worker, a loyal husband and a great friend, not to mention, good at his job as a PATROL OFFICER for the city of sheffield. Im not trying to debate you BUT your trying to say he has NO experience when I know for a fact he does. You may not want to admit it, obviously, but Gregory is the best vote for sheriff! I know my facts, my CURRENT facts.
Mr Ronnie May , did this and it was in our Times Daily, he had his Deputys at a place of Bussness, This Business had ever Permit and Licenses to operate , His Deputys harassed the ones coming and going, untell it closed and Moved ,When Ronnie was ask about his Deputys being at this place Harassing , he said "he was scared someone would get killed leaving that place ,because of the ones speeding down the Hill" . Was he not Scared someone would leave the wide open drug houses and kill an innocent person or whole family ? NO !! No I did not go or ever care to go this Business, that is not my Point !
Now these other Businesses in the County operating 24-7 without any Licenses or Permits , as Mr D,A. Gary Alverson and Ronnie May had said in our Times Daily ,these unlicensed clubs was wide open as many as 40 to 50 cars there on week ends from other Countys in N W Alabama , with no Deputy harassment.

Now Mr Ronnie did make a raid on an old house around 2pm on a Wed, afternoon and no drugs or no one their except one old man. Great Timing ! With his picture in the paper and all the others Drug Task Force and ABC Agents. Would have been nice to do it on a Friday or Sat.nite ! you think ? How many felonys , guns and drugs they may have found .

Yes Mr Ronnie May and Gary Alverson did finaly close down Dougs Place, but after a young man was murder there.

And what about the college kids that was arrested for the Joey and Harold Pugh case. It maybe still on one the young mans record of his arrest.

Now I watched the Times Daily for 3 years of all the Indictments and Convictions in our 4 area Countys. this would come out in Sundays paper once a month most ever month, I kept an on going record of the percentage of Drug cases for each County to compair. Ok I found Franklin Co. was 59% drug related, Lawerence Co. 63 % drug related, now Lauderdale Co. only 20 % , but keep in mind that is about the time David Scoggins was our Drug Task Force Head Man. and he was indicted for making deals, now Colbert Co. was 24% drug related. why the huge defferance? As I have said before Ronnie May told me he has Flushed Drugs Many, Many times , as he did with the young man that killed our son , at the time of his arrest 3 months after he was leaving these drug houses , with drugs and crack pipe on him and nothing on record and all charges droped and why ? I am only stating the facts of what I know to be true, I am sure others know much more than I.
Yes I begain to Notice of how things are handled. and the fact that a phone call was made to keep me from speaking at a school in Colbert Co. right after I had gone to ask quesstions, in only trying to save one family from getting the horrible phone call of their child oding on drugs. Yes a D.A. and a Sheriff has Power to be able to make one phone call ! What was they scared of ?
I will also be voting for Gregory. Ronnie has done nothing notable in years and allows many things to go on that shouldn't. Definitely will not be voting for Don b/c of his notorious reputation so Len is the only remaining candidate. He gets my vote by simple default. Things can't get much worse at the Sheriff's office than they already are. If the officer's are endorsing Gregory, that's good enough for me.

I just realized yesterday after seeing a huge poster with his picture on it who Don Terry is.
He spends a lot of time in Shoneys in Muscle Shoals flirting with the young waitress's there, even when he was in uniform.
He will not be getting my vote!

I find myself agreeing with you on this one .
I'm no huge fan of Ronnie May, but I understand that the other two candidates are saying they support "no tolerance" policies on things such as drugs, etc. I am very much against "no tolerance" on anything. I feel that the officer should look at the whole situation and act from there, not have his hands tied and be forced to arrest someone for a small crime. I will likely be voting for May

What crime do you consider "small"?

arresting two people for two marijuana plants.

They should be arrested. Growing marijuana is against the law.
Were you one of the two arrested?

NO. Do you, as a tax payer, enjoy the practice of involving three police agencies to arrest two people for two plants? Running a stop sign is against the law, do you come to a COMPLETE stop EVERY time? Is that a large crime?

The punishment for manufacturing drugs includes arrest. The punishment for running a stop sign (depending on the circumstances) is a ticket. Please tell me what your point is? Apples and oranges.
