Can any one help me with the sheriff’s race in Lauderdale County? I am not one to hold my nose and vote, my only options is not to vote for either candidate. In my opinion Willis is a terrible administrator and not much of a leader. From not turning over evidence to the DA’s office, to just simply being unprofessional, I can’t see how he keeps getting reelected.

Holden has never been very productive in any job he has held. My opinion, he is always working an angle to help himself. The old you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours would best describe him.

I would really like some positive things about both of them to help me make up my mind.

The same for Mike Curtis, if he is not a joke I don’t know who is, it is just sad we don’t have better representation from this area.

The Sheriff Department is almost always slow to serve papers, they have a lot of them to serve. Best thing you could have done is spend a little money for a process server, they would have attempted to serve them the same day. Willis has made a lot of improvements in the department while he has been Sheriff and before him Townsand did a great job too.
I do not live in Lauderdale County but I do have property and a business there. I think Ronnie Willis is doing a fine job and have the "if it ain;t broke, don't fix it" attitude.
Ronnie Willis has done a great job as Sheriff. The manpower is still short but is a lot more than when he took office & their pay has increased to where good Deputie's are staying on instead of looking for other jobs.Everybody will not be satisified with his performance & that is their opinion. As for me,I live in Lauderdale County and appreciate the progress he has made at the Sheriff's Office.

I could not use a process server because my case went through the DA's office. I understand they have alot to do but when I called I got the same excuse day after day. They told me they could not find him. I was eating lunch one day and Ronnie and a deputy came in to eat. Somebody was talking to Ronnie and he brought up he needed their support for re-election because if he got re-elected he would be elgible for the retirement plan. After I got the piece of fork out of my mouth that I bit in-two I got up and I told Ronnie that before he gets to retirement he needs to do his job first. I told him that he should be embrassed that the contractor they were looking for lived across the field from him less than a mile. Two days later they served him. No excuse. It took 4 months to find a person that lived across the field from him which he could see the contractor's house from willis' front porch. No excuse.

Had you talked to Ronnie before, I'm not trying to argue but if this was the first he had heard of it it sounds like he got it taken care of for you.....I agree if he was aware it shouldn't have come to this point but it could have fallen through he cracks( no excuse but maybe not his fault) and he actually handleed it properly

True and I understand that I'm not the only person that has problems. Both the DA's office and sheriffs department should be held to higher standards and not the norm. If they let little things fall through the cracks, then what would happen if they let something fall through the cracks that could cause harm to someone. The reflection of the sherriff's office is based on the sheriff that was elected.
