THE NEW 55 MPH SPEED LIMIT IS TOO HIGH! I WORK NEAR THIS BRIDGE AND SEE CARS AND TRUCKS PASSING BY AT 55 TO 70 MPH WHEN IT WAS A 35 MPH ZONE, HOW FAST WILL THEY BE GOING NOW?
THE ACCIDENT A FEW WEEKS AGO WHERE A YOUNG MAN WAS KILLED IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF NOT RESPECTING THE LAW, HOW SOON WILL IT BE BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN??

NB,

The bridge at Shoals Creek is now six lanes, and is 55 mph from Skypark road on east. Not really too fast, as they've eliminated immediated access by most of the businesses that accessed directly onto the highway, as well as some of the side streets. Also put in some good turning lanes. I'm anticipating some pretty good wrecks on the bridge itself if we get any ice or snow, though....there's nothing physical except some painted lines to separate eastbound from westbound.

Maybe we should do away with the pesky automobile altogether and go back to horse and buggy? Just out of curiosity, in your opinion, what should the speed limit be on a highway/major thoroughfare?

Off topic: You wouldn't happen to be that @*&#^@& always driving 45mph in the left lane would you?

In Texas if you go the speed limit in the left left a nice fella in an old pickup will kindly remove you from the road, tip his hat and point to that left lane for passing only sign....
wish ya a nice day and hope ya learnt from the lesson[/QUOTE]
