Beware of false pop-ups. I've had two friends fall for anti-virus and other types of pop-ups that are actually webpages and not your computer. If you click on its requests it will gladly load a virus for you. Your computer will be hosed if you don't send them money. I don't know how they can get by with this stuff legally. I don't know much about AVG but I would definitely want to stick to big names like Norton or McAfee and I would definitely only load them from the known site on my own or buy the disk.

I used to have Norton long ago, then one day I got a virus... Norton couldnt remove it. I was lucky enough to have a friend suggest AVG. Also I was lucky enough to be able to download it with the virus still in the puter. It found it and removed it. Been using AVG ever since. AVG also doesn't seem to "take over" the puter like Norton and McAfee do. It is widely used by alot of people.
Shoals Insider is working ok today for me...

I'm glad you are finally admitting about having that virus.

We stopped buying Norton several years ago -- it slowed everything down and still didn't catch the problems that came up. We like AVG better.
