What is happening on shoals creek bridge??

Word at Killen park is that there is a gas leak somewhere in the area of the bridge.
There is fire .because there is black smoke... 
A boat was getting gas at Marina Mar and someone threw a cigarette out. The boat blew up. Three people were taken to ER by ambulance.
Dang....... I knew something was more than a gas leak.... TOO MUCH smoke... (start prayin)
It is my understanding that the gas tanks blew up, as well. All three people ended up in the water. I do not think the injuries were life threatening. I know that one of the girls was cut by something. The owner/driver of the boat is a paraplegic and confined to a wheelchair.
They had angels with them.... 
I can live with bumps and bruises...Boats can be replaced...

We're hearing that it was a wave runner that blew up after filling up with gas. And that the guy is okay.

I just heard about this at Lowes from the lady in line in front of me and couldn't get home quick enough to check this forum. I do hope and pray that it's true that there were no life threatening injuries.
Yea me too ............Like I said before I can live with bumps and bruises...I just don't want ANYONE hurt or dead....My sister called me and told me to look on news and paper to see what was going on..She could not get home..and she saw LOTS of black smoke..
The wave runner incident took place earlier in the day. Two wave runners collided around Emerald Beach. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
The paraplegic's wheelchair ended up on top of the bridge and caused a wreck. Thank God that the guy ended up in the water and not with his wheelchair and also that he is able to swim!!!

OK--It was not caused by a cigarette. Apparently, the guy had already filled one tank and may have failed to turn the blower on.
Tweetie- One of my best buddies just happened to be on his boat near the marina when it happened. He jumped in and got one of the girls out as well as a dog. She was cut very badly on her upper leg.

For what it's worth, this says Shoal Creek bridge is now closed, two injured. Earlier accident was not a Wave Runner, but a Sea Doo.

AAwww...He is definitely a wonderful person that would do anything to help someone in need. I thank God that he was there. Another guy that has a boat @ the marina was able to get the others out.

No word on the dog, but I would assume that some of the sweet people that live on their boats or have boats there are taking good care of him/her.

My heart goes out to the "female marina employee" mentioned in the article that had burns to her face. She fueled my boat this afternoon; she couldn't have been older than 20 or so. Bless her, she was such a sweetheart too. I really hope she is alright.

I really feel for her because of burns even thought not live threatening. The pain of a burn in awful. Bless her heart.
That's so true. Every time I get a small burn, I think of the people in burn units. Even minor burns, especially on the face, must be very painful.

She is my wife's cousin's daughter, and is doing well. An unmentioned part of her injury was that particles of fiberglass were imbeded in her skin. She was in the ER until midnight having pieces of fiberglass picked out of her body. She is a super sweet girl, and so are her parents. Her father who is a police officer was very distraught when he found out what had happened because this family has tragically lost 2 other teenagers (cousins) to auto accidents, and also a close uncle to a freak accident involving a tree falling on his auto.
