There was a small article, I believe in Wednesday’s edition of the Timesdaily under the Law & Order section about the fire which didn’t provide a lot of details as to what occurred. I found the information on the website of WHNT and WAAY more informative.

Why was this story placed under the Law & Order section, because as far as I know, no one has declared publically the cause of the fire? And if they have, they are doing a pretty good job of keeping it a secret.

I for one am very surprised that this didn’t make at least the front page of the regional section with photo, since this was a fire to a commercial business and a source of revenue for the City of Muscle Shoals.

Another thing which I found odd was the lack of media coverage about the fire, almost as if no one really cares.

Times are hard and most of the people working at places like this survive week to week on a less than minimum salary and tips. How about the displaced workers? You would think that there would at least been a human interest story.
When I took journalism a long time ago the type of article now published in the TD was termed feature and used only after the news was printed. One of my pet peeves with the TD is articles now printed concerning happenings all over the states and world. I really do not care who stole three cases of cokes in some small town in Ontario I am glad the dog was returned to owner in Baja CA, but I do not need to know it.
WOW! I’ve heard some secret squirrel stuff in the past, but this is as about as good as it gets. If “Maddog” is involved in this investigation which I am sure that he would be and the fire is indeed the result of arson, I feel sorry for the person that did it.

“Maddog” never rests until he catches the person responsible. He is relentless in his pursuit and the amount of knowledge and information which he possesses is quite remarkable. He worked an arson fire for a friend of mine and I was very impressed with his work.
The bloggers of Shoalandra Speaks may need to recheck their sources, as according to their posting of Jan 2, 2011 stating “A second source has contacted us concerning the recent fire at Sidelines II. Fire marshals investigating the Muscle Shoals blaze state the fire began on the east side of the metal structure; the kitchen is located on the west side. We've also been told to anticipate an arrest in the fire within the next ten days.”

Well today is Jan 15th and there has no information released of an arrest or even the cause of the fire. Why the mystery?
