I know the owners very well, and when they were redoing the place to prepare to open it, the health inspector told them she probably would never ok that place to reopen. (she apparently had a major problem with the old Princeton's). However, they worked extremely hard to get everything in good order, and have been approved to open, even under such scrutiny. I think they will do well.

My husband had the fish tacos. He wasn't impressed either. They undoubtedly will make their money off of alcohol sales and not the food.
Although I know the owners very well (as quoted in an earlier post), I have just now gotten a chance to eat there. I took imamom04's advice, and did not order the chicken salad or fish tacos. I did order the Sideline burger w/ fries, and my wife had the Kentucky Derby chicken. We also had fried crab claws for an appetizer. My burger was among the best I have ever eaten. perfectly cooked, and seasoned, and my wife absolutely loved the Kentucky Derby chicken (grilled chicken breast w/ bacon & swiss). I sampled the chicken as well, and found it to be tender and very flavorful. The fries were also very good. The atmosphere was as you would expect in a sports grill. They have more TV's than I could count, all high def, and all tuned to one of the various ESPN channels as well as 2 huge big screen projection TV's. On the negative side- I have had better crab claws. They weren't awful, but far from the best. Also our server seemed lost almost the entire time. Even though our food was served in a reasonable amount of time, our appetizer was served along with our entre'. All in all our experience was probable an 8 out of 10. They should do well.
I have now eaten there several times. I did not try the chicken salad, but got the large steak, which I thought was GREAT, and tried the talophia fish which was also very good. Tried the shrimp and crab dip appetizer and it was super, but gave me heartburn about 2 the next morning.
Had hot wings last night with Kosmic Mama, and they were great also.
Seems they have a computerized ordering system that seems to intimidate some of the wait staff, but I'm sure they will get used to it.
You guys that keep wanting a Hooters, you ought to give this place a try.
I would like to add that sidelines is going to be such a hit in this area. I hope that everyone interested in this type of atmosphere will go check it out. It is exactly the kind of place Florence needs, being a college town. Also, there is this really cool bartender/server that just rocks. Her name is April. This girl is LOADED in personality.
I went there a month or two ago. I was pleased with the atmosphere and service, but the food left a lot to be desired.
I wanted a seafood item and they had a grilled tiliapia I ordered, I asked if they could blacken it, she looked at me kinda funny and said she would see. The salad came out in a Mcdonalds like container with the flatware(plastic) and napkin sealed in a plastic bag. The fish was burned until it had black places on it (someone don't know what blackened is) and tasted bad.
I am sure I will find myself there again(if they stay opened long enough), but I can assure you my food choices will be of something more mainstream, like a Hamburger or wings or pizza.

I think I'll opt to watch the game at Mugshots after hearing the Sidelines commercial yesterday for the final round of some silly calendar girl contest which will take place this Saturday. I want to watch the game where I can actually watch the game.

From what I have heard from an employee of Sidelines, reservations need to be made due to the crowd.
Mug Shots is the back room (bar) in Brinley Brothers on Tennessee Street. The place that's been in the news lately. because of draft beer. There is tons of standing room, but I'll be getting there an hour before kickoff to be sure I get a good seat. They have TVs everywhere, so seeing the game isn't an issue.
Well, by all means. Anything to make life easier for you. While we are at it, why don't we get in touch with Webster and have them change every word that we don't like or understand. Who's with me? Oh, and little side note ( that's two seperate words - side-note- not to be confused with Sidepockets, we realize that this is tricky), I really like the buffalo tenders and the pizza at Sidelines. My husband and I had both, we were there for a long while. I am not a huge fan of the draft beer though, felt like my head was gonna pop clean off the next daySmiler
Such attitude for such an "unintelligent" comment -- btw, SidePockets has a BIKINI contest -- not a BAkini contest...careful where you accuse others of such "arrogance" ...

SidePockets also serves food -- they have appetizers and such so that is not a distinction either.

I have been to both places and have had a great time in both places. I hope they both succeed in this area.
I was already feeling unimpressed with Sidelines when I ate there the other night, however, my opinion was pretty solidified when the bartender came out of the bathroom stall and rushed past me and right out of the bathroom without washing her hands. Mmm...Can I get an amen all my Sheffield No-Sanitizer in the bathrooms at school hellraisers? Just Kidding...Smiler
Not really impressed with the food, or with nonchalant attitudes towards cleanliness, although I'll just take your word for it that your friend is clean.
By the way, I waited tables at Louisiana the Rest. in Sheffield back in college and Matt Wood would have killed any of us that even thought about leaving a bathroom in front of customers without washing out hands. Our customers appreciated it too. I made great tips.

Dear Confederate Pride, I think you have Sidelines mixed up with Sidepocket. Sidepockets lounge is having a hawaiian tropic contest on Saturday . Sidelines Sports Deli is having the Alabama Game as there main feature. I think they have like 35 tv's and Draft Beer. They even have tv's in the bathrooms so your sure not to miss anything

I didn't go to the bathroom, but that is so cool.
