The food at Sidelines is horrible.

Two grades below what they serve at gas stations.

But if you get drunk enough, anything will taste good. As long as they keep placating the hungry drunks (who are their real moneymakers), maybe they will stay in business.

Their new location on River/Ford Rd is most likely an indicator that they are struggling to pay the expensive lease at the old Princeton's location.

An old honky-tonk/converted liquor store in cracktown has got to be way cheaper than a brick restaurant building adjacent to one of the busiest intersections in town.
i went there this past saturday. they had a good live band and the food was good but the drink prices are CRAZY! a beer is $3.00 but i guess thats not so bad if you get a pitcher. but a shot of anything is $5 or higher and they only fill up half of a medicine cup. ever since something fishy closed nothing has been able to stay open there.
Rest assured MJK is wrong on both counts.

The one on Ford road is close to the new Trent Jones Golf Course, soon to be a up and coming part of town. Good entertainment also, every Wed night the Decoys. Seems like good foresight to me.

Every time I am in the Florence location in the evenings it is full, sometimes packed, and they have the best ribs IMHO in the area. No reason for someone to quit there.

I wonder what MJK's real motive is.

WRONG. They are not 'close' at all.

You must be one of these folks who thinks that golf courses are gonna save us all. Do you really think any of the residual growth from the RTJ golf courses is ever gonna reach Ford Rd.? I don't.

Golf courses are nice, but they aren't near the financial boom a stoner like yourself dreams for.

Why did Sheffiend abandon their Jack Nicklaus golf course project?

Why is the Florence country club now a landfill?

Why is Blackberry Trail struggling to stay afloat without support from taxpayers?

The reason is obvious. GOLF COURSES DON'T DO JACK SH*T FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH. They may bring in a half dozen decent jobs and several dozen landscaping jobs, but they do not spur this massive growth you speak of.

And if you think Sideline's ribs are the best in the area, you must be smokin an awful lot of that weed you been seein, or maybe your mama just never cooked growing up. Either way, their ribs aint nothin special (unless you get really drunk and I completely understand if this may be the case with you).

Sideline's is nothing but a mediocre dive. Anyone who wants to get on here and act like their food is great is a drooling dumb@ss.

When was the last time anyone heard mention of a family or couple going out for dinner and choosing to go to Sideline's?

Fn never.
MJK,
I will concede that a taste for ribs is an individual thing. My absolute favorite is the Rendezvous but Memphis is 150 miles, and a very close second, if not equal is that little place just South of Bugtussle Ky, but that is even more than 150 miles.
What I said was I thought their ribs were about the best around here, and I still stand by that statement. In fact, the employees from that rib place that was supposed to be so great that replaced Sports Rock, used to come to buy his ribs in his old place.
No, I was NOT a great supporter of the golf course, in fact if you have some pictures of the march in Florence, I was the one with the poster which said "HELL NO, BRONNER GO", but my main objection was to stealing the TVA trail. I do hope that the golf course will help bring in more people as any amount of dollars would be helpful. That area may , or may not grow, I don't know, but what else is out that way as for as a place to eat ?
Blackberry Trail, I can tell you playin golf in somebodys backyard aint my idea of fun. What dummy (dummies, croanies) thought this would be a good idea? I admit McFarland was probably expensive to run, but at least it was a beutiful naturistic (is this a word?) course. The only thing bad about McFarland was they dindnt like us rednecks down there. I told the manager there once that "I thought this was a public course" for all tha people not just tha upidy. I wonder if he went to Blackberry? I only played at Blackberry once, got tired of hittinthem houses with by balls! Sounds like MJK has tried everything on tha menu at Sidelines, mabe a few more beers will set him right!
