What makes a "sign" legal? You can go and buy signs that say Keep Out or no trespassing and all; but when posting them on your property does it mean that they are what it says? What happens when someone doesn't abide by what the sign says?

Guess that is what I was wondering= if you get caught. On another thread someone posted about how the place where they worked had a sign posted that all vehicles were subject to search. Was just curious as to who had the right to search?

If you post a sign on your property warning that if you trespass, you will be shot on sight! Would that be legal? Just saying if we had a stand your ground law; would anyone not following the terms of the signs be participating in risky behavior?

Weird.. Just seen a story about how a school in Marysville posted a sign stating that no students could wear clothing with red or blue colors. Reasons being because of gang influences could be impacting students there on campus.

So signs posted regardless of the reason; have to be abided by.

_______

A few years ago a cop told us if we put up a No Trespassing sign on our property, we had a right to defend as we saw fit if we felt there was a threat.

Maybe one of our forum law enforcement officers can tell us if that's still true.
