It WASN'T your BELIEFS that 'got things going' yesterday. It was the MANNER in which you 'stated' them.

Contrary to what YOU may believe, NOT ALL Southerners, or descendents of Confederate veterans, took part in, take part in, OR support ANY manner of 'racism'.

Your comment at the end of your post about the 'history' behind the 'Confederate Memorial Day' was TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR.

You are excused because of your ignorance. I was born in a shack in extreme Eastern Lauderdale County near a little place called Cheery Grove. You can look it up on a map at the courthouse. Someone will help you find it, but I have been to lots of places and done lots of things since then, some of which I am not proud of, but I never made excuses for slavery, and never called anyone who did a friend.

Your sarcasm went way too far. Regardless of where you were raised, what your beliefs are, and how you feel about slavery/racism, your statement was prejudice and insensitive. It should not have been said in private, and surely not posted on a open, public forum.

I certainly upset a bunch of bigots didn't I? What did you do to calibrate confederate immoral day?

What did YOU do, have a parade, or just shoot some firecrackers?

I did not call anybody any racially insensitive or slanderous names, slurs or insults to (as you put it)"calibrate" Confederate "immoral" day (get a dictionary and learn to use it). Nor did I accuse anybody of committing a Federal Felony (hate crime of burning crosses with intent to terrorize or intimidate). YOU were the only one that did that.

Your hostile defense posturing and feeble attempts to justify your statement by throwing blame and insults about only go to indicate that you were wrong when you posted it, that you knew you were wrong when you posted it, and that you STILL know you were wrong...you just are not going to admit it. And the anonymity of a public forum is the ONLY thing that gives you the courage to spout your evil words and ideas.

I'll be busy for a few minutes now...got to put someone on my ignore list...

Kindred, am I now seeing what Ken warned me about? Or am I misreading the level of anger in this thread?

I'm From Out of Town. My Step Mom is Chinese. I don't get it. There were legally enslaved people in the United States, even after the Constitution was enacted.

Racism is FEAR. Racists are Cowards. Is anyone in this fight NOT afraid? Do any of you know what you are ACTUALLY AFRAID OF? Can you explain it in clear language?

I know what I fear, I fear the people who enable and push this fight. I am afraid of the people who tell me the lie that allowing a "different" person the same opportunity I have will cost me my job, my lifestyle, and my standing in the community. I am afraid not of YOU, but the people who tell you that YOU are good because they like you, and that they will not like you if you like anyone they don't like. I don't need those friends.

I am afraid of the people who try to cure a disease by pointing out the illness of others and not seeing their own sick ways.

Hell I am afraid of myself. I fear that I will adopt the cultural biases as right because they "look" right.

Before you try to cure the ills of others, cure yourself.

Oh, they don't know any better. I try to make them understand, but they won't listen. In Germany there weren't any Nazis. In the old south there weren't any slave owners. Slaves were all volunteers there was a long waiting list of people from Africa wanting to be slaves. Some even wore chains around there necks so that others would not get ahead of them. They were willing to be packed like sardines on ships so they could get to them cotton fields in Dixie. Now for you people who don't know, I am being sarcastic, and **** right an apology is due.

Thank you. my IQ is 154. Perhaps that is the reason we see things differently, yours is much higher,or much lower. If I am ignorant about something, well nobody can know everything.

As far as your having a high IQ, means squat, my son is higher than yours, and he doesn't act weird, nor does he say inappropriate things for "shock value"...

Now you are using excuses... Roll Eyes

Well know how about that, a smart boy who isn't mean. congratulations.
