according to a Times Daily headline smack dab in the middle of the front page of Sunday's edition. There is no such adjective as "stagnate." The word is a verb. The word that should have been used is "stagnant." The headline for the inside continuation of the story got it right, but WHY should any gaffe of this magnitude appear on the front page of the paper? Ironically, the Times Daily gives free copies of its paper to schools, supposedly to contribute something to the education of students. Perhaps teachers should have a daily exercise in which student find the grammatical errors in the paper! Sheeesh!
