Hi to my Forum Friends,

In the Religion Forum discussion begun by our atheist Friend, Jennifer Best, titled "Why These Christians Want You to Know They're 'Not All Like That'" -- she posts this from an news article:

But Dan Savage, creator of the "It Gets Better" campaign, launched another just week, this time named, The Not All Like That Christians Project, or NALT.

Seemingly inspired by an episode of Savage's own TakePart TV show, American Savage, the project invites Christians who support LGBT rights to film themselves offering messages of hope to the gay and trans community.

And, I respond to Jennifer's initial post with:

Pick any, ANY, Biblical Christian issue -- and you will always find some who "wear the Christian hat" who will disagree with what the Bible teaches.

So, should we Christians follow the secular society's interpretation of God's Word?  Or should we truly follow God's Written Word?

A Christian believer will ALWAYS follow God's Word without trying to find loop holes around what God has written.

The discussion finally got to the discussion of the gay community activists working to indoctrinate children in our public schools -- by introducing books at the PreSchool, Kindergarten, and Elementary school level which teach that families with two mommies or two daddies are normal.  In other words, the public schools are working with the gay community in an effort to capture the vulnerable young minds of the small children, to indoctrinate them into believing that wrong is right.

And, from the atheist side, Jennifer offers, "I guess a tiny child standing in a church, singing "ain't no homo going to make it to heaven," amidst cheers and applause from so called caring adults, is just fine with you, eh JT?  Talk about influencing and indoctrinating."

I respond to Jennifer Beset, "Have YOU personally witnessed that happening?   Or is this just more of your atheist party line?"

And, now, our agnostic Friend, Chick, jumps into the discussion by posting this URL link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auxISQ620ds -- and commenting, "Billy has run from the topic because he knows he's been made to look like a fool....as usual."

So, Chick and Jennifer Best, let's take a closer look at the video which you believe castrates and totally destroys the Christian church and Christian faith.  I watched the video and there is nothing there which identifies that as a Christian church except a pulpit and folks wearing their Sunday best.  That most likely happens even in a Satanic church or in an atheist church.

As you both know, not all people who wear the "Christian hat" are really Christian.    And, Jesus tells us that the same is true even of churches who wear the Christian label.   Not all churches which call themselves Christian -- are Christian.  In the Revelation letters to the seven churches, Jesus tells the church at Sardis that they are a dead church:

Revelation 3:1-3, "To the angel of the church in Sardis write: He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars, says this: 'I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.  Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God.  So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent.  Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.' "

And, we all know churches, even churches who wear His name -- which are not Christian.  The Mormon church, the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints -- is not a Christian church.   the Jehovah's Witnesses church is not a Christian church.

And, we ALL know that the group which calls itself the Westboro Baptist church -- is NOT Christian.

For all we know, that  video clip could be from Westboro.    If either of you ladies know more about the church where this video was shot -- I would be interested in seeing that info.

But, until then -- I have to say that those folks are only posing as Christians -- but, you and I know better.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Nathan,

I suppose that is the difference between a Christian relationship with Jesus Christ -- and an icon based religion such as Roman Catholicism where one prays to rosaries and statues.   I look at that picture and see a small child reaching out to our Lord in sincere worship.  Yes, she is young.  Yes, she does not yet have a mature knowledge of Christ and His wonderful gift to us of eternal life.  But, the Holy Spirit has put a reverence for our Lord in her tiny heart.  I see a beautiful child communicating in her heart with our Lord -- and I see Him smiling and loving her.

Yet, you look upon this picture, seeking icons, rosaries, statues, and traditions -- seeking to follow a man-made church organizations with its man-made traditions, rituals, and icons.

Between these two views is a vast chasm.   I praise God that I am standing on His side of that chasm.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi VP,

With myself, I have no confidence, for I know that I am a weak, sin burdened, but "forgiven sinner."   There is nothing within me which warrants forgiveness, His love, or His forgiveness.  Yet, I am told:

John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

Praise God I can say that I am included in that WHOEVER.

And, I do have HIS promise that because I am a believer, I have His gift of eternal life (John 3:16, John 6:47, Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, John 10:28-29) and that He will keep me.   We are told:

Jude 1:24, "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy."

So, you see, VP, when you start putting your faith in Jesus Christ, and Him ONLY, for salvation -- you, too, can have this level of "eternal security."    However, as long as you depend upon a church (the Roman Catholic church organization), a man (the Pope), or a dead woman (Mary) to give you salvation -- you have a major problem.

You really need to take to heart what Martin Luther learned:

Romans 3:28, "For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law."

Romans 5:1, "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."

My Friend, I ask you to notice that when I write, I base it upon what the Bible, the Word of God, teaches.

Yet, it seems, more and more, that you, Nathan, Vic, et al, just make bold declarations and the only support you have is that YOU have said it.  Now, most likely you and the others are basing your bold statements upon what you have learned in Roman Catholic Catechisms -- but, you do not even quote that.  All I get from each of you are unsubstantiated declarations

Using that kind of logic, I can declare that the moon is made of green cheese -- and it must be true, for I said it.   That is the level of authority your bold, baseless statements show.

As the the lady said in the old Wendy's commercial:   "Where's the beef?"

All you are showing us is the bread, and it is stale, i.e., "It is so, because my church told me it is so -- and I believe my church!"

I don't!   I don't believe your church and I don't believe my church -- UNTIL I test it against Scripture (Acts 17:11).

VP, if all the foundation you have for your beliefs is what a church tells you -- you do have a problem.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
