Hi to my Forum Friends,
In the Religion Forum discussion begun by our atheist Friend, Jennifer Best, titled "Why These Christians Want You to Know They're 'Not All Like That'" -- she posts this from an news article:
But Dan Savage, creator of the "It Gets Better" campaign, launched another just week, this time named, The Not All Like That Christians Project, or NALT.
Seemingly inspired by an episode of Savage's own TakePart TV show, American Savage, the project invites Christians who support LGBT rights to film themselves offering messages of hope to the gay and trans community.
And, I respond to Jennifer's initial post with:
Pick any, ANY, Biblical Christian issue -- and you will always find some who "wear the Christian hat" who will disagree with what the Bible teaches.
So, should we Christians follow the secular society's interpretation of God's Word? Or should we truly follow God's Written Word?
A Christian believer will ALWAYS follow God's Word without trying to find loop holes around what God has written.
The discussion finally got to the discussion of the gay community activists working to indoctrinate children in our public schools -- by introducing books at the PreSchool, Kindergarten, and Elementary school level which teach that families with two mommies or two daddies are normal. In other words, the public schools are working with the gay community in an effort to capture the vulnerable young minds of the small children, to indoctrinate them into believing that wrong is right.
And, from the atheist side, Jennifer offers, "I guess a tiny child standing in a church, singing "ain't no homo going to make it to heaven," amidst cheers and applause from so called caring adults, is just fine with you, eh JT? Talk about influencing and indoctrinating."
I respond to Jennifer Beset, "Have YOU personally witnessed that happening? Or is this just more of your atheist party line?"
And, now, our agnostic Friend, Chick, jumps into the discussion by posting this URL link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auxISQ620ds -- and commenting, "Billy has run from the topic because he knows he's been made to look like a fool....as usual."
So, Chick and Jennifer Best, let's take a closer look at the video which you believe castrates and totally destroys the Christian church and Christian faith. I watched the video and there is nothing there which identifies that as a Christian church except a pulpit and folks wearing their Sunday best. That most likely happens even in a Satanic church or in an atheist church.
As you both know, not all people who wear the "Christian hat" are really Christian. And, Jesus tells us that the same is true even of churches who wear the Christian label. Not all churches which call themselves Christian -- are Christian. In the Revelation letters to the seven churches, Jesus tells the church at Sardis that they are a dead church:
Revelation 3:1-3, "To the angel of the church in Sardis write: He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars, says this: 'I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God. So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.' "
And, we all know churches, even churches who wear His name -- which are not Christian. The Mormon church, the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints -- is not a Christian church. the Jehovah's Witnesses church is not a Christian church.
And, we ALL know that the group which calls itself the Westboro Baptist church -- is NOT Christian.
For all we know, that video clip could be from Westboro. If either of you ladies know more about the church where this video was shot -- I would be interested in seeing that info.
But, until then -- I have to say that those folks are only posing as Christians -- but, you and I know better.
God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,
Bill
