i propose an experiment.

this is the thread to post something good, something remarkable, something special to you. no flaming, no snideness, no rudeness. just something you think, you've seen, you feel or you know, that might make someone's day a little brighter.

please stay within the spirit of the thread. let's hope no one breaks the chain of goodwill.

if you don't have something to say, maybe you just did. think about it.

i'll start. i posted this one a thread that went the way of the buffaloes a day or two ago...

i learned that the call of a whipporwill in the summer night can be a healing thing. that lightning bugs scattered around like stars are a miraculous thing. and that the caress of an unexpected breeze can remind you to be thankful for life's small gifts.

come on, friends! who's next?

My girls make me realize how lucky I am. Sunday night we were eating hamburgers and hotdogs. The conversation was priceless. We are all such great friends. We talked of tv, books, their school....they laughed about my Goo, Goo Cluster and Dew habit I had after my divorce. They exagerated, of course. They said I would eat them in bed (that is right), but said I would wake up in the morning with the wrappers stuck on my head or arms and legs. Not true....
That afternoon, I was taking a computer to be fixed, it was in my car. One of them told me I should get a laptop, that I should stop hauling around a PC.

I am so very proud of him . But the thing Im most proud of is that he is a fine young man with a heart of gold and a Christian . Wink

Congratulations to your grandson,GEL !!!
This is cause for a celebration. We should grab a few friends and do a happy dance.
I am excited that school is out. I am exhausted from dragging this child of mine out of bed in the mornings. I tried to get him to do the happy dance with me today but he said he wasn't feeling it. 3 more years to go til graduation.
Another note on sunsets - The most beautiful sunsets in the world set upon Middle Tennessee. I have sat many a night on the porch where Generals Cleburne, Granbury, Sthral, and others lay in state, and watched the sun set behind the giant Orange Osage tree, over the thousand plus tombstones of Confederates fallen at Franklin, while the mourning doves cooed in the distance.

As some of you know, my brand new cell phone got broken...but my replacement came in today! Tomorrow is my son's honor day at school... I am happy to go be there for him. ... My youngest will be two on Saturday... I ask him just when did he get so big and he he tells me "don't know... so big!" I just love my two boys will every single beat of my heart. I was listening to our conversation at the dinner table tonight and I caught myself staring at each one of my three favorite guys (one being my husband of course and two of them my sons) and I thought about how much I absolutely adore and love each of them in there own ways... they are so special to me. Tomorrow is the last day of first grade... thank the Good Lord above... Smiler There are a lot of good things going on!!!

Yes, and taken from the bow of a 36 foot Sea Ray Mr. Sand happens to captain.

I think there is nothing like spending the night on a gently undulating boat.

cool. are there a lot of trees like that in the area? If I were like 20 years younger (wow, that makes me feel old) I would say that looks like a fine climbing tree, now...that looks like a tree I would be forced to climb in pursuit of the middle indian.

Pickler, I will pm you a pic of Mr. Sand at that tree. The two of us together could not reach around it. It is massive and was there during the Civil War.
